okay so you mentioned harumi in your destinyswap au... can we know more about her? pretty please :3 (btw no pressure)
OFCCCC I LOVE DS HARUMI SM IM SO GLAD U WANNA LEARN MORE ABOUT HER . here’s my special little thing , she’s all that matters to me 💜
Tumblr media
as always … lore ramble under cut !!
likewise to her canon self , ds harumi is a silly little kid from ninjago city . she lives with her parents and is a huge fan of the ninja and their feats . she collects merch , especially toys and action figures based off of them . she’s justg…. So silly
for ds (and my headcanon) , she’s about one or two years older than lloyd :)
now here’s the fun part:
without lloyd releasing the serpentine , the great devourer is not revived in season one . ergo, harumi’s parents never die during its attack . harumi instead meets lloyd during one of his patrols in ninjago city , while shes hanging out with her friends . her friends, also fans of the ninja, immediately circle around lloyd, who is happy to answer questions and chat with them (he wants a break from work, anyway) , and harumi just … sits at their picnic blanket.
when questioned by her friends about her love for the ninja?
Tumblr media
essentially…… harumi and lloyd don’t get along very well at first . she thinks he’s a loser. but her favorite is nya, so the first time she manages to meet nya, she reacts excitably and happily, while lloyd simmers with rage behind her .
somewhere along the line , harumi becomes regularly affiliated with the ninja . she’s smart and capable , and she’s able to come up with plans and solve puzzles that they weren’t able to do without her . the first time she helped, they were so impressed by her ability that they sought her out the second time, and then the third … and it became a regular occurrence.
next thing you know, she’s hanging out at the monastery often, playing with swords and helping zane cook and annoying lloyd with her presence . and when she learns about nya’s destiny to fight wu / the overlord , she becomes determined to help in any way she can. she’s not an engineer like jay, and she’s not an elemental master like the others, but she is an intelligent kid who is now pretty knowledgeable in prophecies and elements . thus , she pulls garmadon aside one day and asks to learn magic.
he’s very happy to help her.
enter mage harumi!! she trains in magic and combat while the others work on their elements , intending to be another person at nya’s side when she has to face her destiny : )
blah blah, that’s really all i have for her . she’s still one of the characters that’s more under construction than not , but i care her very much and she’s super super dear to me <3
like i did with lloyd, here’s some canon stuff about her!
- her magic is pinkish-red and she gets very upset when kai jokingly compares it to lloyd’s fire . it’s also emotionally charged, so it sometimes gets unstable when she’s angry….
- the ninja all call her rumi as a nickname!
- she doesn’t like hugs from people other than her parents very much, but she will let the ninja hug her .
- she is a HUGE fan of the movies that jay acts in (as most kids her age are) and she may or may not have talked his ear off when they first met . it made him a little reluctant to connect with her at first, but being the only two members who weren’t allowed to train (at first) made them interact more.
(and harumi learning magic and getting to train with the ninja totally didn’t upset him… totally.)
- when she needs to move quickly, she ties her cloak around her waist
- morro is the one who ties her hair into space buns . zane does it in a braid sometimes !
- like I said, nya was her favorite ninja , but she likes them all equally when she joins, because they’re part of her family now
- she’s still attending school during her training . the ninja help her with her homework
- she WILL leave during training hours randomly if she wants to see her parents. she dgaf . sometimes they’ll come up to the monastery to visit her though <3
- she cuts her hair on her own . that’s why her bangs are kind of fucked up . it’s ok tho she’s a cutie pie
- she doesn’t actually like being called a ninja . she’s a mage and she likes to be recognized as such . being called “the violet ninja” did nearly urge her to go back on this claim though …
- the pink tint in her eye is from a spell mishap
- I LOVE HERRRKWHDKSHFAKSH
that’s all thank u

When You’re Lost in the Darkness, Look for the Light- Chapter 2
Abby Anderson x Fem!Reader
Tumblr media
Read chapter 1 here !
After your night with Abby you head down to the cafeteria again to grab some food, still convinced it was all a dream. It’s not until you recognize a familiar face from across the room that you realize it was real, and this time she’s not alone.
Warnings: mild violence, swearing, fluff, just a lot of gay panic tbh
The new chapter is finally here !! All the positive comments on the first one made me so happy so THANK YOU for those :))
BTW that gif of Abby... both eyes open no blink (O_O)
When you woke from your slumber you were almost positive that your encounter with Abby was merely a dream or a figment of your imagination. It was the first time since moving to the base that you hadn’t woken up in a cold sweat; nightmares filled with the echoes of clickers and that piercing sound of ammo clattering on the floor was not an uncommon occurrence. After spending those two dreadful days trapped in a bunker with nothing but a pocket knife and a small handgun, a good night's sleep was something you no longer expected. You shivered as you recalled that dark, cold, concrete room you had barricaded yourself in, awaiting your death with no food, water, or supplies of any kind. It wasn’t until you heard the crashing of pipe bombs in the above levels that you snapped out of your weakened state. The WLF had on a whim decided to clear the building you were hiding out in and saved you. Your rescue was a complete stroke of luck and you weren’t sure whether to be incredibly grateful or afraid for it.
Still groggy from your sleep, you hadn’t even realized the small piece of paper that had been slipped under your door. It was from a page in a notebook that had been ripped out, and on it was a small message in neat, military handwriting: “Had a lot of fun last night :) - A”.
“So it was real!” You thought. That absolute tank of a woman wasn’t just a product of a sleep deprived trip to the communal cafeteria; she was real and every fibre of your being hoped she had enjoyed last night as much as you did.
You neatly tucked the note into your copy of Pride and Prejudice before getting ready for the day (or more like afternoon since you had slept in). After brushing your teeth and washing your face, you slipped on your military issued combat boots and a light sweatshirt before leaving your dorm.
It was still raining outside but luckily the WLF base wasn’t too chilly. Even when it snowed they always managed to maintain some modicum of heat, it seemed as though the wolves could always find ways around the pesky inconveniences of living in a post-apocalyptic world. You never really questioned it though and you knew better than to doubt Isaac’s methods. It’s not like you’ve actually met him or anything, but the stories that you had heard were enough to send a chill down your spine, and you knew that even if you did ask questions it’s not like anyone would answer them anyways.
Fortunately you hadn’t slept in past lunch because you were absolutely starving, so starving that even the shitty WLF base food was starting to smell like heaven. As you made your way into the cafeteria that was teeming with life, there was only one thing on your mind: devouring those damn burritos. Once you finally got some food you quickly sat down to demolish it, amazed at how so much happiness could be contained within the confines of a single bland tortilla and completely oblivious to the staring of a familiar pair of blue eyes from across the crowded room.
“Just talk to her already.” Manny said in a teasing tone.
Abby quickly snapped out of it “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”.
Of course Abby knew what he was talking about; in your rush to completely annihilate those burritos you had failed to notice Abby sitting at a table a few feet away. Abby couldn’t explain it but her heart was racing, the same way it would if she were in combat with a hoard or some Scars.
Manny rolled his eyes “Dude I’m not blind, you’ve been staring at her ever since she sat down. So who is she?”. He relished at the sight of Abby’s nervousness, he hadn’t seen her like this since back when she was still dating Owen.
“Huh? No hablo inglés.” Abby said sarcastically trying to get Manny off her back.
“Fine, I guess I’ll have to ask her myself.” Manny started to get up when Abby kicked his shins from under the table. Manny yelped in pain “Dude! What the hell?”.
“I will literally clock you in the face, sit your ass down right now.” Abby quickly glanced around the room to make sure no one noticed Manny writhing in pain.
Manny chuckled then smiled that classic smug grin while he gripped his definitely-bruised shins “I knew it, someone’s got a crush.”.
“God you’re annoying, I should’ve let that clicker eat you last week.” Abby said in an annoyed tone as she fell back against her chair. Abby felt a tinge of remorse for kicking Manny like that, she knew that Manny probably wouldn’t have actually walked up to you; but she couldn’t have risked it. Abby looked up and noticed Manny’s expression had changed, afraid she overstepped with that last statement Abby was just about to apologize when Manny started.
“What the fuck Abby?! Why didn’t you tell me about this girl, you know I’m the best wing-man.” Manny was suddenly very intrigued, Abby had always been very secretive when it came to her love life so Manny jumped at the opportunity to become her certified dating coach. Plus, not only did Manny have his fair share of experience with women, he also just really wanted to see Abby less lonely. After Owen and Mel started dating along with Leah and Jordan, Abby was stuck constantly third-wheeling the entire group; Manny didn’t think she minded that much, but sometimes it hurt his heart to see her all alone.
“There’s nothing to talk about Manny, we’re just friends.” Abby replied reluctantly, not completely believing her own words. It’s not like you guys were dating, but it felt like a disservice to call what you guys had a “friendship”. The word itself didn’t accurately encapsulate enough meaning for her and despite the fact she was a voracious reader, Abby just couldn’t come up with a word for what you two had.
“If you’re friends, then just go up and talk to her.”  Manny knew Abby, and he knew that she always needed a push if he wanted to get anything out of her.
“I can’t… I just can’t. I’m not like you, okay?” Abby was conflicted, waves of doubt started to roll in the more she thought about it. She didn’t want to consider the possibility that maybe you didn’t want to talk to her; that maybe you were just being nice last night and didn’t actually like her, or maybe even that you saw her when you came in and decided to ignore her on purpose.
Obviously Abby was freaking out for no reason, but those small anxious bits of uncertainty that crept in from the back of her mind made her shield of confidence feel tenuous and weak; something she despised.
Manny knew what Abby meant but being the smug little shit he is, he wanted to hear her say it out loud “What do you mean?”.
Abby sighed, “Don’t make me say it.”.
“No, no I really want to hear it.” Manny smiled that famous shit-eating grin, the one he used whenever Abby had to admit he was right.
Abby realized he wasn’t letting go of this “Ugh you know, you can… talk to people.”. Abby could tell by Manny’s face that he wasn’t satisfied with her answer, so not wanting to risk the possibility that he’ll stand up again Abby gave him a look of defeat “and I guess you’re charming or whatever.”.
“Ah! Música para mis oídos.” Manny smiled proudly, hearing Abby compliment him was almost as rare as seeing her without that signature braid. Just as Manny was getting ready to haul Abby’s ass to your table he looked over and realized that you had disappeared, it wasn’t until Abby kicked his shins again that he realized you were standing right there.
You were elbow deep in your third burrito before your dumbass realized that Abby was sitting a couple tables across from yours. “Shit!” You thought, how long had she been sitting there? Did she notice you? No, probably not… unless, what if she was so disgusted by you huffing down those burritos that she ignored you? Ugh! How could you not have noticed her?
You calmly set your burrito down, wiping your face and praying to God there wasn’t anything stuck in your teeth. You figured that Abby probably hadn’t noticed you so you decided to just bite the bullet and talk to her. As you stood up from your seat to make your way over to her table, you quietly whispered to yourself “Come on y/n, don’t be a pussy.”.
“Hey Abby.” She was sitting with a man who you assumed was the friend that she had transferred here with, she mentioned his name last night but you couldn’t place it. He suddenly jerked around to face you with a calm smile on his face, his rugged features and charming personality now making it clear as to why Abby complained about being kicked out of her own room so many nights. Even though you weren’t attracted to him, you understood what all the fuss was about.
“Hey Y/N, I didn’t even see you there.” As soon as the words came out Abby shot Manny a look, the kind of look that meant “don’t say a fucking word.”. However, of course Manny being… well Manny, he grinned and raised his hand to shake yours.
“I’m Manny.” His smile was warm and welcoming as he shook your hand “Please, sit down sit down. Tell me all about yourself.”.
You took a seat next to Abby, your knees just barely grazing each other due to the shortage of space at the table. Even though it was such a small form of contact, you couldn’t help but feel like there was an electric charge connecting you together. You wondered if she even noticed the gesture, if Abby could hear your heart daring to beat out of your chest; if she noticed that small gap between your hands on the table, or if she even noticed the small clandestine looks you were sending her the whole time.
Abby froze stiff as a board when you sat down next to her, and she did her best to maintain her composure when she felt your knee graze hers from beneath the table. This was the closest you two had been and now she could really see the details of your face and your actions; how you pushed a strand of hair behind your ear whenever you were nervous, or how you snorted when Manny thought “Little Women” was just about really tiny people. She noticed how bright your smile was, how it was the kind of smile that could instantly light up an entire room, and she was astonished because Abby finally understood the real meaning of that one Firefly quote about “looking for the light”. Abby realized that no matter what, she would follow you to the ends of the Earth. You were this bright and unexpected light that suddenly entered her life, you weakened her defences and made her feel like a ball of putty, and while one part of her detested that feeling, another part of her never wanted to part with it.
You explained to them how you had been rescued by the WLF and how you were a pretty skilled mechanic. You even told them about how although you loved your job, you desperately wanted to work in the library, because other than the fact that you wouldn’t be covered in grease at the end of every day, you’d also be surrounded by things you love.
The two told you about the “Salt Lake Crew” and how they were essentially Isaac’s top soldiers. It was a fact that left you with about a hundred questions, but you figured it wasn’t the right time to bring up their boss so you tried your best to brush it off. The three of you sat at that table talking for what felt like forever before the cafeteria staff kicked you guys out because they had to clean up.
As they both walked you to your room you were so incredibly excited. You had spent so many months at this boring outpost, spending most of your time reading or crying. Then Abby happened; she came into your life and suddenly you weren’t alone anymore. You were so insanely grateful for this newfound happiness that you just wanted to leap into those insanely strong arms.
Just as the two were about to leave Abby grabbed your hand and leaned down to your height so she could quietly talk to you, “Hey Y/N, can I ask you something?”.
You were so dumbfounded by her hand holding yours that you nearly passed out, you tried to form words but all you could manage was a small nod.
Abby smiled as she stood up and looked to Manny “Hey, you can go ahead I’ll catch up. I just need to talk to Y/N for a quick sec.”.
Manny immediately got the signal and grinned so wide Abby thought his face would freeze like that, Abby knew she was never going to hear the end of this, but she couldn’t really be bothered to care with your hand in hers.
Then Manny was gone, and it was just you and Abby. Her hand was still holding yours and you couldn’t help but notice all the details of them; how she had these small calluses on the palms of her hands, formed from years of wielding firearms and lifting weights. You realized how much damage she could do with them—how much damage she had done with them—but instead she stood there softly cradling your hand in hers, just lightly squeezing it before she looked at you with those same pools of blue you wanted desperately to drown in.
“Hey so I know we kind of just met last night, but I’ve really enjoyed hanging out with you and…” Abby paused to contemplate her words before starting again “and I was wondering if we could do this more often. I’m doing some work for Isaac tomorrow but I’ll be back later if you wanted to come by and watch a movie or something?”.
“Holy shit!” You thought “Did Abby just ask me out on a date?”. You couldn’t believe it, there was no way this absolutely fucking perfect girl just asked you on a date. You almost wanted to pinch yourself because nothing about this felt real, it wasn’t until you snapped back to reality that you realized you had been staring at Abby in absolute silence while she stood there waiting for an answer.
You quickly answered “Absolutely, I would love to come over and watch a movie.” Your heart was pounding dangerously fast against your ribcage and your face was completely flushed as you gave her a reassuring smile.
Abby sighed with relief and lightly squeezed your hand “Great! I’m in the room across from the gym, does eight o-clock work?”. Abby felt like a weight had been lifted from her shoulders, at first when Y/N didn’t say anything, she was afraid she had misread the situation and crossed the line.
“I’ll see you then.” As you started heading back to your room, you suddenly remembered something “Hey Abby!” She looked back with curiosity as you shot her a small smirk “Thanks for the note.”.
Abby smiled shyly “I’ll see you tomorrow Y/N.”

"Give me a sign" — Leona x reader
One shot requested by: Anon
『Btw anon, I'm sorry I didn't have the Anon mode on until like two days ago.』
Tumblr media
Days kept going on as [y/n] started being fond of everyone they met at NRC, specially the Braincell Squad along Epel, Jack and yeah, Sebek, who sometimes joined them too. Most of the time, when they were not causing trouble at their dorms, they gathered at Ramshackle for "studying". Though there was one day a week [y/n] used to sneak out, following Epel around to his Magift practice.
The last time they saw a game was when they were hit conveniently by the disc thanks to Grimm's movements, but [y/n] was not really interested on the game, oh no —those getaways were to see someone. Indeed, the same person why they lurked around Savanaclaw with Jack by the end of the day. And everything was fine until...
"What the hell are you doing here, herbivore?" the lion man asked behind them. [Y/n] froze right there, crouched behind one of the seats of the bleachers.
Did I forget telling that [Y/n] felt Leona doesn't like them? Well, now you know.
"I... Epel" they answered nervously and without context, putting a strand of their [h/c] hair behind their ear. "He forgot his water bottle and..."
"Tsk. Whatever you are doing here, do it fast and go away" he interrupted, rolling his eyes and passing by them as if that never happened.
And this was the day to day of [y/n] and Leona whenever they got to see each other. The matter was that he, Leona Kingscholar himself, felt sort of intimidated by the little human —why? He didn't know. It was sort of an allergic reaction or something, he felt his heart beat harder, his cheeks burning hot like feber, sort of a knot on his stomach and words flew away from his head.
"Hey, Kingscholar! I... Brought you these" [y/n] said as they extended him two special meat sandwiches from the cafeteria.
Leona turned around on his napping spot, looking at the human, then at the food and then, he turned around again, giving his back to the little one, who still held the sandwiches towards him.
"I Don't need them..." the lion said, and dismissed them with a movement of his hand, "Ruggie has already brought me something".
"I... I See" the human said, withdrawing his hand. "Then... You're gone. Again" they sighed while realising Leona's breath got a slower pace, he was asleep. There was nothing to do but leave; said and done.
Lucky was the big cat that they've already left when his ears twitched on signal that he was not sleeping, his eyes slightly opened, listening to the human voice with a trace of worry left behind. "It couldn't be sadness, or is it?" he told himself, turning to face the glass ceiling of the Botanical Garden with his hands behind his head.
"You really dismissed [y/n]'s food? They even fought with me for that since there were only three of those things left, ya'now?" Ruggie's voice snapped him out of his trance as the hyena threw a packed meat sandwich over his stomach. Then he heard a wrapper being opened as he sat down, looking at his friend at the moment he bite a sandwich —exactly the same like the one he threw at him a few seconds ago.
Ruggie realized about that and stopped, "What?" he asked towards Leona, still munching a piece of sandwich, when the lazy lion lifted a finger pointing directly to the food. "I'm not giving it to you" he stated in a possesive tone, holdingh tighter his food.
"It's not that” the dorm leader growled, “But... You said there were only three left..." Leona mumbled, unwrapping his food and starting to bite it too.
"Oh yeah, [y/n] gave it to me when I passed them back on the front gate of the Garden. They only needed one for his raccoon friend, even though, they got the other one for you” he continued munching while explaining the ruckus they caused on the cafeteria for those limited dishes. "Hey Leona!" Ruggie snapped his fingers in front of him "Are you okay? It's not like you to space out that obviously."
"I think I'm sick" he reflected out loud while making a pitch of his empty wrapper to the rubbish.
"I think you're lazy~ shishishishi"
"Don't go too smart" Leona shot him a wry look and sighed. "I think I'm allergic to that herbivore or something like that."
"What? C'mon, you're not serious" Ruggie sneered. Leona grunted, "Okay then, why do you think that?"
"Because..." He turned away, aware of his blush. "When [y/Ln] is near, my chest aches and I feel as I wanted to cough; also my stomach feels strange, as if I were hungry but also anxious? And there is this thing on my face... I run a fever every time that herbivore is near...."
"Buuuut~"
"But I like its smell. Or its presence" he finished with nothing more than a whisper.
"I see!" the hyena almost shouted, starting the lion, "You love them."
"Another joke like that and you're gone" he stared at Bucchi, angry but ashamed.
"Oh man... I'm just being honest" the blonde shrugged starting to walk away, "do as you wish but be careful. I don't how for how long [y/n] is going to bear you."
"Maybe he was tired", Deuce tried, quietly.
"Told you", Ace seconded him. "He's just like that, you cannot change him and... Have you thought that maybe he just doesn't like you? I mean like... Around him as he do with anyone else?"
"He was nice once" [y/n] tried to bring as an excuse, "After the Blot thing, he was someway nice. But... I did something wrong?"
Jack shook his head, "You should forget him. He's not the one, and I'm sorry about this but Ace is right..."
"Can I record that?" Trappola laughed, trying to open the camera of his phone.
"Shut up" Howl snapped, joining the laugh while hugging the little non-magic human between them.
"I think I can handle it. I mean... Nothing lasts forever and this little scratches heal with time" they tried to smile, eyes teary.
"Hey, we're here!" Epel cheered, "if you need to cry, to talk or you just want to mess around a little, call us!"
"That's why I call you my friends" and finally, the genuine smile appeared, "I'll sleep on it, I swear".
And both of them did: Kingscholar and [y/Ln]. Unfortunately, they reached two very opposite conclusions.
The little herbivore began to let go of their feelings, now they were no longer around Savanaclaw or the Magift training or even on the third years classrooms, they were free. Of course it still hurted whenever someone mentioned Leona, or at the Dorm Leader meetings or even when he was lurking around the cafeteria. Specially the last one was odd of the lion, and everyone around him noticed —even Vil started asking around what in hell happened to him.
"Ah, Ruggie-san" he said with velvety voice.
"Prefect Schoenheit" blonde hyena answered.
"Is Leona okay? He has been... Nicer than usual"
"Ah, you too. In fact, he's not really fine. His heart is about to break" Ruggie said, a bit worried as Vil gasped, not as an act but in genuine surprise, "his herbivore grew tired of him..."
Well, you see... Since [y/n] started getting rid of their unrequited love, Leona accepted it. And now it hurted so bad every time he got to see his herbivore: there was no "H-hey Leona..." or "Hello Kingscholar!" or any kind of cheerful greetings, everything tuned into a cold "Good morning/afternoon, Prefect Kingscholar", "Excuse me, Prefect Kingscholar" —they even stopped bumping into him, no more visits to his napping spot at the Botanical Garden and even when they got to Magift practice, Epel will always arrive alone. The knot in his stomach and the fever on his cheeks turned into a harsh pain on his throat and a burning heat on his eyes.
Meanwhile, Braincell Squad and first years club was proud, their little human finally was free and not depressed by the mistreatment of the Prince.
A couple of months passed until one evening, after clases, [y/n] made their way back to Ramshackle when heard someone sobbing, that scared them since Epel was having a hard time. By following the noise, they bumped into Leona and immediately tried to avoid him, but the lazy lion was not that slow; he walked quickly and grabbed their shoulders.
"Please, stop avoiding me" he said, not bothering on hiding the trembling of his voice.
"I... I am not" they said slowly, "Pref--"
"Don't" he grunted painfully, "Come back to call me Leona with that lively loud voice. Wake me up from my naps again, stare at me in the hallway so I can stare at you when you look away..." He sobbed again, weakening his grip, about to let his arms fall, "I... I am sorry."
"Why... Why are you apologising?" they asked, turning around to face him.
"Because I treated you so bad, and I... Thought I had an allergic reaction... To you" Leona whispered, [y/n] giggled.
"As far as I know, you cannot be allergic to a human" then they caressed one of Leona's braids, he stared at their [e/c] eyes, a pale gleam reflected on them. "It's fine, don't worry. We can still be friends".
He shook his head and caught them between his arms.
"I have denied it for too long. You deserve more, I was so mean, but I don't want to be just a friend" he explained tenderly, burying his nose on their hair, aspiring its sweet perfume.
"Leona, I'm not sure--"
"Just give me a sign..."
Silence. They just stayed like that, holding each other, [y/n] biting his bottom lip as Leona rubbed their back. When he finally was ready, understanding the situation and letting go of them, he got interrupted by a hold on his collar.
Then, a soft, sweet and warm pair of lips slammed against his.
It was a kiss full of fear and sadness that slowly turned into a gentle one. Full of untold feelings that tangled and finally were silently confessed.
"Is this enough?" the human asked, caressing his lover's cheek.
"It is more than enough... My loved herbivore".
—・ Φ・—
I melted with Leona's soft side, I don't know where I got the inspiration but I felt this took too long. Hope you like it too!

Note
Zhurong, welcome~!
I've been a fan of your work!
But, i've got some questions...
Since when did you start taking photos?
What else do you do on your spare time?
Tell us your favorites! (food, friends and games)
Tell us your least favorites... (same as the previous one btw)
Do you have a crush on someone~?
Final Question!
6. Why do you have hair braids? (just asking...)
Welp, that's all of my questions, i guess.
By the way, you are my favorite~!
Which i hope Alp doesn't mind if i be your friend, instead of him...
"Phew, this is a lot, but I'll answer them all! After all, that's what I'm here for!"
Tumblr media
"For the first question, I guess I started taking photos... since I arrived in this world. It's a bit blurry but I do remember some parts."
Tumblr media
"Secondly, I spend my time in the school's Photography Classroom. You know, where my clubmates hang out! If not there, I usually just take pictures of the scenery sometimes."
"O-Of course I don't take pictures unwillingly!"
Tumblr media
"Third question... Hm, I think I like food combinations that make my tongue go wow! Food can be similar to color. If you have just the right amount of combination, it'll be the perfect set! Like combining different colors!"
Tumblr media
"Fourth... I really don't like a certain individual who's always heads-over-heels for food... Behemoth! He ate my whole set set of candy! I can't forgive him after that! I have been so alert ever since that incident..."
Tumblr media
"Fifth question, no. I don't really have a crush on anyone, no."
Tumblr media
"And lastly... My hair braids? Well, I just thought that my hair was too long, you know?"

Adult Problems
Summary: Oscar removes his mask and tells you how he really feels.
Pairing: Oscar "Spooky" Diaz X Black!Reader
Warning: fluffy fluff fluff, oscar being soft, sincere and cute ;_;.
Length: 1.3k
BTW: this is my first time writing for on my block so i wanted to make this short and sweet .. it’s heavily inspired by oscar and cesar’s conversation in s3:e8. depending on how people like it, i’ll consider writing something more original for oscar in the future. i hope you guys enjoy & sorry for any typos!
MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
An amused look was on your face as you watched Oscar shuffle the boys out of the door, Cesar and Jamal’s attempts at bidding you a goodnight failing terribly when their words were cut off by the door slamming in their faces.
“Aren’t our brothers just the cutest?” You voiced, a set of eyes cutting towards you before a not so thrilled grunt was used as a reply.
Oscar grabbed two handfuls of the candy that you had brought over earlier and made his way over, his body dropping next to yours on the couch and you watched as the collection of sugary goods flooded his lap. The both of you passed time by eating and chit-chatting about normal stuff, or as normal as things could be for the leader of one of the most notorious gangs in Freeridge. You allowed him to rant a bit and he made sure to talk without saying too much. He didn’t want you worrying about his dealings and you couldn’t lie and say that you wanted to know more than what he was letting on. You’d catch the specks of blood on his clothing, see him slipping a silencer into his pants pockets before he’d kiss you goodbye, and let’s not even talk about the countless rumors that you’d hear people whisper behind your back. You knew what you were getting yourself into when you decided to start seeing him, but it didn’t make the relationship any easier.
“Are you happy?” He asked suddenly.
The question came out of the blue and you paused from unwrapping your third mini snickers to look at him. He looked relaxed as he sat in the corner of the couch, man-spreading with one arm stretched out behind you and the other on the couch armrest. His face on the other hand was a different story. You could tell that he was deep in thought, those eyebrows of his that always gave away his true feelings were furrowed and down, nose defined and nostrils slightly flared.
“Of course I’m happy.” You answered without much thought, Oscar’s head turning to you but he was still looking away. “I’m happy here. With you, my family, your family-”
“What family?”
“Oscar.”
“All I got is my hermano and even then.”
He stopped himself before he could go any further and when you leaned in closer in an attempt to make him look at you, he purposely kept his eyes away. Calling out his name didn’t help, not even when you tried holding his chin and turning his face to you. You pushed the excess candy from the couch and his lap, the small pieces hitting the floor before you were cuddling up against him. Knowing that he was keeping things to himself made you scared and the random question of your happiness put you on edge even more. People didn’t just ask that all willy nilly. Something was bothering him, something that he didn’t seem eager to share.
“You know what would make me reeeeally happy? Going away with you.” Your fingers played with the cross that hung around his neck. “I don’t care where we go. An hour away .. ten hours away. It doesn’t matter. I just want us to get away from everything for a little bit. I don’t want you worrying or having to look over your shoulder. Just somewhere nice. Somewhere with no problems.”
You ended your words with a smile at the image you had playing in your head. Oscar’s carefree grin as you both walked hand in hand like a normal couple. It’s not like you guys couldn’t do that now, but with the heat that had been going on with the Santos, Prophets and now 19th Street, Oscar didn’t like you going out alone or with him, which sucked. He was scared that he would get caught up while out and didn’t want you being a witness to anything, or worse. You already had a few quick run-ins with some knuckleheads that were trying to scare you while you were out shopping and Oscar damn near went crazy when he heard the news from said knuckleheads and not you. That earned you a not so nice speech about hiding things from him and you remembered him talking to you as if you were a child before you calmed him down with a couple kisses and much more later that night. Looking up at him, you pressed your lips against his lower cheek.
“What would make you happy?”
“Adult problems.”
You tilted your head to the side and scoffed.
“Fool, now why would you want-“
“I want to own a house. Maybe have a wife, a kid. All I have right now is resentment and missed opportunities. I don’t want that shit no more. It’s time to give it away. Start a new chapter.”
You were taken aback by his sudden confession. Oscar had never spoken about having a life away from his current one, he just always seemed worried about making sure that Cesar didn't follow in the path that his grandfathers, father and now brother had. The way he talked let you know that this had been on his mind for quite some time and although it made your heart smile that he had hope of a life away from the gang, you knew that it wouldn't be so easy to get out even though he was the leader. You didn't know how the Santos worked when it came to leaders stepping down, but your binges of Gangland let you know that it wouldn't be a walk in the park. Just imaging him trying to leave and them ... you stopped yourself before your mind could run wild and decided to lighten the mood.
"A wife? Is she gonna be a fine ass chica?"
His cheeks rose and body jumped as he smirked loudly, those being the same words he had used on you when you both first met. You remembered giving him a hard time about how that wasn't the correct way to approach you, but you couldn't deny the fact that his accent mixed with that sly smile of his had you smitten and thinking of him for the rest of that night.
"She's gonna be you so yeah."
Sucking your teeth, you rolled your eyes playfully and moved off of him only for him to pull you back and situate you on his lap this time. His face was back to being serious, but you kept a smile on your face as he placed your hand on his chest, the steady beat of his heart making you caress the skin with your thumb.
"Mi corazón late por ti."
You rose your brow, waiting for him to translate his words like he always did when he spoke to you in Spanish, but instead he ignored your puzzled expression and kept going.
"Y mi amor por ti, esta mierda es real."
He tightened his lips and nodded at his words, his arms wrapping around your waist as he laid his head against you. You smiled to yourself and used your unoccupied hand to hold him snug against you, his arms tightening as though he was scared that you would try to move away like last time.
“I don’t know what you just said, but I heard love so same.” You laughed when he leaned back and shook his head, large hands lifting up and cupping your face softly before he was moving upwards and running them across your scalp until they met at the back of your head. He moved his fingers back and forth and you watched his eyes follow the movement of your slightly frizzy braid out bouncing up and down all over the place, your head being pulled towards him before his lips met yours softly.
“Wanna work on them kids now?” He mumbled against your lips and you watched his eyes squint as he smiled.
“So now it’s kids?”
“My shit’s potent chica.”

Let’s talk TroPreCure! (^∀^ 🌺)
Tumblr media
i’m so stupidly proud of this dumb pun “tropurikyua~”, hahahahaha
Last post of the year and wow is there are lot to be excited for!
I even had to make a list for the stuff I want to talk about and I’m sure I already forgot one or two things but we’ll get to them as we continue to float~ along the wave to February 28th, mmkay? :)
Now for what has peaked my interest so far. And yes, we have to talk about the following first:
Tumblr media
1) HealPre the shortest Precure season??
Unless they plan for double features in February (which I doubt but you never know), HealPre is likely going to reach only 45 episodes long instead of the usual 48~50 before TroPre I’m using this shortening of the title for now so if there’s a better alternative, tell me and I’ll switch out begins its broadcast.
Understandable because the producers probably want to get back to their normal scheduling as soon as possible (toy sales, y’know) and I suspect pushing the start of the new season back by a month is the most they’re willing to compromise.
As for me, I’m quite happy about this since HealPre’s lost its hold on my attention a while ago so the sooner TroPre gets here, the better. Though the downside might be a scrambled climax and a rushed, underwhelming ending for HealPre (I dunno if it’s January’s titles that feel a bit messy or if the hiatus is still throwing me off) but whatever. We’ll refresh ourselves with the new blood Cures so it’s all good.
Tumblr media
2) Tropical movie announced for Autumn 2021, no All Stars??
(source)
First saw this mentioned on Youtube somewhere but it’s all over the fandom forums by now. I mean, HealPre’s movie is set for March, the usual time slot for All Stars release. If Toei intended for there to be an All Stars in 2021, there’s no way they would announce the seasonal movie before it so speculations of them skipping it this year are probably true.
To squeeze it somewhere between March and October-ish would force them to readjust their budgets as well and I don’t think even Toei wants to go through that extra hassle after all the trouble the pandemic’s caused for everyone already. It’s just easier to resume All Stars in 2022.
That, and I think Laura being a major character in TroPre despite not having a Cure title (yet) would make for an awkward situation when the three latest teams gather so perhaps that’s also one of the reasons. But I’ll get back to Laura in a bit.
Tumblr media
3) Cure Summer is a RAINBOW Cure
So god help me if I see anyone calling her a Pink Cure.
Yes, she’s the lead Cure for this season. NO, she is not a Pink Cure.
Look, even the official website has a rainbow overlay for her profile pic and text font while everyone else’s respective theme colors are a solid hue:
Tumblr media
Therefore, RAINBOW.
In promotional material and merchandising, they’re probably going to advertise her primarily with pink bah and at worst, she might occasionally be labeled as a White Cure with multiple subcolors (her outfit is not pink-dominant) but definitely NOT. PINK.
...also, this goes without saying but f***yea, we finally got a lead Cure practically and unabashedly wearing the LGBTQ flag and you cannot tell me otherwise, Toei!
Own up to it! Declare Manatsu/Cure Summer as the Precure queer icon!
I’m not gonna stop yellin’ until you do! 😠
Tumblr media
4) Laura = obvious midseason Cure is obvious
First of all, Laura is a babe. I already love her the best and she’s not even Precure yet. <3
Anyways, the set-up is pretty much in the description. Important main character who’s not a mascot, stated to have a self-confident personality and just speaks her mind (oooh, I like~ :D), magical/foreign being from another world looking for Precure to save her home, possesses her own special item(s), has aspirations to become the next Queen (so she’s a princess-candidate or something to that effect, I suppose).
We’ve seen various combinations of these traits in past midseason (and a few starter) Cures so nobody should be surprised when we all guessed that one of the Cures would be a real live mermaid.
The only question is why not just make Laura a Cure from the get-go if she’s introduced to us at the beginning (like Hime or Lala) and having a team of five with no unnecessary extra add-ons later on (like Smile).
Well, there’s a simple answer for that: formula.
Toei is afraid that if they don’t spit out some new animation sequence at the halfway and third quarter points of the show, the kids will lose interest and abandon the series altogether. Which means failed toy sales. Oh nooo... [/sarcasm]
...Yea.
And this way they can also have Laura available in the Cure lineup for the next All Stars in 2022 instead of making her sit the fight out if we were going to have one in 2021. I’m convinced that’s gotta be one of the reasons. *shrug*
Tumblr media
But ok, whatever. Her debut is gonna be later, that’s all. She’s a delayed Cure.  Midseason Cure, same difference.
Moving along to the more important stuff now like what’s her Cure name gonna be, y/y?
Well, knowing Toei, a translation of the term “mermaid” into another language is the most predictable route even though we already have a Cure Mermaid. Not like that ever stopped them from repeating words before (ex. Cure Happy vs Cure Felice). Though if they do go down that road, I hope they opt for the Spanish/Italian “sirena” and not the French “sirène” because the latter sounds too close to how Cure Selene is pronounced in Japanese. And, putting it nicely, we all know Japanese pronunciation of foreign words is as off kilter as can be.
Hell, even the the Portuguese “sereia” sounds aesthetic as hell so it’d be nice if they can just remember there are other languages that exist out there besides Japanese, English and French when making the final decision at the writing table! *stomps foot* >:/
Alternatively, “nereid” or “naiad” are good choices too but they remind me too much of Greek myths and Laura’s from the Grand Ocean which covers more than just a couple of seas (Greece is surrounded by three, btw) so...
I dunno. But whatever it’s gonna be, she’s definitely got a strong association with water and her powers will probably be based on that.
Tumblr media
As for theme color, since there’s noticeably no blue or green Cure in the starter lineup, it’s likely she will take up that spot when she debuts around ep 20.
Pink is also open since Cure Summer, again, is technically not a Pink Cure and Laura’s hair and tail fin are hot and light pink respectively but looking at Laura’s design and concept, does anyone seriously believe that?
Her upper torso consists of aquamarine while the body of her tail is definitely some shade of cyan, implying they’re aiming for somewhere around the middle of green and blue on the lighter spectrum.
And yea, I’m aware that green and blue are considered exchangeable in some perspectives with how close some of their shades are to each other but officially, I think Laura’s gonna be grouped with the Green Cures.
Cuz of the hair. If Laura’s gonna keep it the same or a similar shade after transforming, that is. The Blues have always had cool-colored hair so putting Laura in with them might disrupt that harmony whereas if you put her with the few Greens there are (including Parfait), she’d fit right in.
I mean, we’ll see but that makes the most sense, doesn’t it?
On another note, I just want to say that I love how they added frills to her arms instead of letting her elbows go bare naked. It definitely makes her look more like a genuine mermaid than if she didn’t have them (remember, half fish doesn’t mean half the body :P).
Tumblr media
5) Magical Items
Frankly, I’m tired of seeing the transformation device being a compact again even though one of the main motifs is make-up this season. But at least, as far as Precure compacts goes, the Tropical one is my favorite cuz of how cute and delightfully colorful its toy version looks! So I guess I’m okay with it.
The Heart Rouge Rod, though? ...I dunno. I think it would’ve been fine without that...straw (?) jutting out at the top. It looks weird, doesn’t it look weird? :S
As for the collectible clip-ons, I can live without those for the rest of my life. Yeesh.
Tumblr media
Laura’s items, the Aqua Pot and the Ocean Prism Mirror.
Again with the portable, travel-size housing. *sigh* 😩
Alright, I can let this year slide cuz Laura (I’m so soft for her, omg) probably won’t be getting legs for 20 weeks so she’s got to move about on land somehow. But unless they’re really thinking about turning this idea of carrying your apartment around in your bag/pocket/purse into a reality (cuz that would be effin’ awesome), please be more creative with your toys.
On the other hand, I’m much more interested in the Ocean Prism Mirror but from what Kusyami (the Precure merchandise reviews I follow on Youtube) said in his latest vid, this is the ED dance item so don’t know if it’ll actually have an relevance to the story or not. But I did hear him mention it having something to do with the Queen as well and since Laura wishes to become Queen, maybe it’ll be important after all? Maybe it’s her transformation device?
That’d be super cool. Let’s continue the trend of the midseason Cure having a different transformation item than the starters. Honestly, we should alternate every other year or two but we’ve gone three seasons with all of them using the same henshin gimmicks up till HealPre and I just want a break from that.
Tumblr media
6) Fin sleeves??
These look so impractical for combat so maybe it’s exclusive to group attacks.
And/or a sort of precursor to the super forms?
*GASP* Does that mean they all eventually turn into mermaids? 🤩
Tumblr media
7) Yui finally became Precure!! 😭
lol, it’s all crack from this point on so don’t take it too seriously but man, after Yuni’s deceptive braids, I thought I wasn’t gonna see anything that reminded me of Yui for a while and lo behold, Sango.
kehehehehehe xD;
Though Yui might be closer to Minori in terms of personal interests (fairytales and storybooks).
Tumblr media
8) Akira, the actual Onee-chan version
I didn’t think this when I first saw her but once I read “Onee-san” in her profile, there’s no saving you now. Sorry, Asuka. 😅
Also, damn, do her sandals make her feet look big! Compare them to the heels she wears as Flamingo. Are they even the same?! lololol
Tumblr media
9) ...this sounds awfully familiar...
Translation:
Tokimeku Tokonatsu! [Exciting/Thrilling Everlasting Summer!] Cure Summer! Kirameku Hoseki! [Sparkling Jewel!] Cure Coral!  Hirameku Fuurutsu! [Flashing Fruit!] Cure Papaya!
Tumblr media
Japanese reiteration:
Mallow/Mao: Pink no tokimeki! Lillie: Blue no kirameki! Lana/Suiren: Yellow no kagayaki!
….........

Shell
Tumblr media
 Author: bvidzsoo
 Warnings: violence and swearing
 Pairing: Park Chanyeol x female reader
 Summary:  Mermaids and Pirates, in this story they are all true. Fairytales come to life when you least expect them, bringing you on amazing adventures. What you could have never even imagined became a nightmare as soon as you are kidnapped by some cursed pirates that perhaps aren’t as evil as myths make them out to be.
 A/N: Well damn, it’s been a long time since I have written something but motivation hasn’t been with me for a long time now. Maybe it’s the stress and the time I don’t have anymore, but quarantine made sure I have enough time now. This one shot has been sitting in my drafts for a long time now so I’m glad I finally finished it. This was a request btw and if the one who requested it sees it, I hope you enjoy it even though I made some changes! Happy reading now!
     Have you ever heard of mermaids? Do you believe in mermaids? What about pirates? Do you fear them? Well, you better do. Pirates are ruthless men who navigate on the seas and at night, when everyone is sleeping, they make a stop at shore towns and then...they robe the whole village, killing men and taking the women and children.
Even if these are just myths, people in the town I grew up still believe in them. And unfortunately, I do too. It’s not just the pirates, the creatures of the night and sea...they are real. I haven’t seen a mermaid yet, but when I was younger my grandfather, who was a sailor, would tell me stories about the big sea and its mermaids, sirens. Mermaids, who were kind and guided him...sirens, who were bloodthirsty creatures who guided him towards his death. One day, when I was ten years old, my grandfather didn’t come home. Some say it was the sirens who killed him, others say that the pirates attacked him and took him as a prisoner. But growing up as the daughter of the major, with a sailor grandfather, my hopes still rely on the fact that he found that much-desired chest of gold he always told me about and decided to settle on a quiet island, with his mermaid friends.
   Our town is called Shell, and it has two origins. Elders say that before humans lived in this place, this was the territory of all kinds of mermaids, their sanctuary. And those who still refuse to believe in ‘fairytales’, as they call it, say that the town got its name because of the influx of shells the sea brings to the shore. It is true, if you go on the Vest side of the beach, you risk of getting cut by the many shells that lay untouched on the sand. But that’s also one of the things we are famous for, rich people who wish for the finest jewelry or people who would like to gift something elegant to a significant other, travel to our town to buy these shells, handmade by the people of the town...that including me.
   The streets of the town were buzzing with people running up and down, getting ready for tonight’s summer festival, the Mermaid Night. It’s a celebration our town always holds on the third week of July, a way of showing their gratefulness to the mermaids that left this land behind for us. But truth be told, people are just happy that they can get drunk and holler around the streets without getting sanctioned and probably hook up with others.
I sighed as I stared out the window of the shop, the wind blowing gingerly my bangs away.
“Is something bothering you, Miss?” The rusty voice of the old lady resonated in the vacant shop, her fingers working fast as she braided the rope of the bracelet.
“My father” I answered with a sigh, staring at the people longingly “He said I’m not allowed to attend the festival this year--Have you heard anything more absurd than this?”
“Maybe he knows something you don’t” The old lady, Mrs. Han, muttered quietly.
“And what could that be?” I asked with a huff, closing the window and turning around to face Mrs. Han.
“The legend says…” Mrs. Han looked up, a glint in her eyes as she grinned “On every fifteenth year, there will be a white moon...and the white moon is the guide of the pirates, meaning it brings pirates. I’m sure the Major just wishes to protect you from any oncoming danger”
“But if pirates are coming, doesn’t that mean the whole village is in danger?” I asked quickly, standing up from my place and walking closer to her.
“The village is fine, dear. The people are getting older and older, we aren’t in danger but you and your friends--I can’t say the same” My eyebrows furrowed as I stared at Mrs. Han’s wrinkled face.
“Because we are young? Are we potential targets?” I raised my eyebrows, growing a little amused. Even if I believe in the myths, until I don’t see something I won’t truly believe it. Just like mermaids, maybe they left this land for us, but maybe they are already dead and we just try to carry on with their memories. What if pirates don’t exist anymore? Leeteuk and Donghae, friends from the Sun kingdom, last time they visited, they didn’t bring any bad news...in fact, I haven’t heard of pirates ever since my grandfather disappeared eight years ago.
“It’s a dangerous thing to play around like that, child. You should be careful, the Major didn’t say those to you to scare you off” Mrs. Han’s words were stern as she looked up and I just hummed quietly.
The door opened behind me and two voices I already know too well abruptly stopped talking.
“Y/N!” It was Sooyoung who called out first, her voice loud.
“Hello, Mrs. Han” The always respectful Joohyun bowed as I turned around and smiled at my friends.
“Hi” I waved a little before turning back towards Mrs. Han “Well, I will come and pick up the bracelets tomorrow, Heechul is quite impatient” I muttered, gathering the gown in my hand from the table as Mrs. Han just chuckled.
“Tell the boy I expect more silver from him this time, he might travel here from the Sun kingdom, but I work on these not him” I giggled and kissed Mrs. Han’s cheek before heading for the door with the girls.
“Of course, I’ll make sure myself he pays more” Mrs. Han just snorted before I closed the door, turning towards the girls.
“Why is she always so...cranky?” Sooyoung asked with a grimace, her red dress shorter than usual.
“She can hear you, you know” I rolled my eyes as Joohyun pushed Sooyoung to the front as we started to walk.
“She’s too old to hear us” Sooyoung snapped back as she fixed her eyes on me.
“She’s not” I huffed, crossing my arms in front of my chest, almost letting my white gown fall on the sandy street.
“That’s not important” Joohyun was quick to interfere “Tonight, however, is important. How are you dressing up?”
“Oh, my sister made a dress for me at least two weeks ago” Sooyoung shrugged as she pouted “I don’t really like it but she wants me to wear it, so I guess I have to”
“Your sister is the best tailor in the town, how can you not like it?” I asked, eyebrows furrowed.
“She has a different style compared to mine” Sooyoung shrugged, taking an apple from Yuta’s tavern, who was too busy grinning at Yeri, a girl that is three years younger than us.
“You should pay for that” Joohyun was quick to narrow her eyes at Sooyoung who just chuckled and took a bite of the apple.
“When was Sooyoung ever fair?” I asked in a mocking whisper, making Sooyoung roll her eyes.
“It’s not my fault he was too busy flirting with Yerim” Sooyoung just shrugged, leaving Joohyun sighing.
“I’m not coming” I suddenly forced out the thought that has been bothering me all day.
“What?” Joohyun stopped walking, wide eyes directed at me.
“My father forbid me from doing so” I sighed loudly, watching the ground as I pushed the sand around with my feet.
“Why?” Sooyoung asked, her voice not as concerned as Joohyun’s was.
“Something about pirates and the fifteenth white moon” I just shrugged and Sooyoung hummed as her eyes surveyed the market.
“My mother told me about it too” Joohyun spoke up, placing a comforting hand on my arm “I’m not allowed to stay out later than midnight”
“Of course, can’t have a beautiful maiden like you disappearing” Joohyun stiffened at the masculine voice, her face suddenly turning blank. Sooyoung just chuckled as she took in the sight of Yunho. His hair was tousled, he probably just came back from fishing judging by the smell and bag he carried. His white shirt unbuttoned until you could see his tanned chest and trousers at the end slightly wet.
“What do you want?” Joohyun asked as she sent a glare towards him.
“I hope you didn’t forget about that dance” Yunho only winked at Joohyun.
“I told you, I am not dancing with you, Mr. Jung” Joohyun held her head high even if Yunho towered over the three of us.
“Irene, dear, why won’t you drop your attitude and--”
“It’s Joohyun, and why won’t you leave me alone already?” Joohyun hissed at Yunho who didn’t look that amused anymore.
“Where’s the fun in that?” He still chuckled, but a small glare was sent at my friend.
“I bet it won’t be too much fun when the Major hears about it, huh?” I raised my eyebrows, speaking before anyone else could. Yunho’s eyes snapped at me and Joohyun hissed, glaring at me. It’s known by everyone that Yunho doesn’t like me, he thinks I’m arrogant and hold power over everyone just because I’m the daughter of the Major. But those aren’t true, I’m only like that with people who are rude and won’t stop bothering me. So maybe Yunho is right, I do kinda act rudely towards him.
“Oh look, Miss Kwon found her voice, are you now running to daddy as well?” Yunho rolled his eyes as I just smiled, waving at him.
“I’m sure you know your way to the Major’s house. I’d like to thank you in advance for the delicious fish you brought for us” I winked at Yunho as I took Sooyoung and Joohyun’s arms, pulling them after me.
“You need to stop doing that!” Joohyun hissed as I felt dagger-like glares melting into the back of my head, no surprise, coming from Yunho.
“Why? It’s funny” Sooyoung snickered and Joohyun was quick to slap her back.
“Because it’s dangerous” Joohyun looked at me, pulling her arm free from my grip “You know Yunho is not a very good man”
“And you expect me to stay calm and not worry when he’s after you? Of course I know about his reputation, that’s why I always interfere”
“He could hurt you”
“No, I’m the daughter of the Major and you are not, Miss Bae” I stared at Irene with concern, eyebrows turned into a frown.
“Okay, fine” She sighed, turning away from us.
“What did you do to him though, Miss Bae?” Sooyoung’s voice was mocking as she nudged my shoulder “Tell me your secret spells”
“Do not call me a witch, you know how people react to that, Sooyoung” Joohyun snapped, apparently her good mood gone thanks to Yunho.
“Come on, I was just joking” Sooyoung rolled her eyes offended “But I’m serious though”
“I didn’t do anything” Joohyun shrugged, her eyes lingering on a set of shell necklace. I eyed it too with a smile, I’ll buy it later for her.
“He’s just...Yunho. You know he can’t accept a no and I’m constantly giving him no’s, figures why he’s still after me” Joohyun shrugged and Sooyoung rolled her eyes while I chuckled.
“You say no to every boy”
“Well…” Joohyun’s cheeks suddenly turned red and Sooyoung and I glanced at each other amused. Jaemin was standing in the doorway of the flower shop, waving with a big smile at Joohyun. She waved back, throwing us a glare when Sooyoung and I waved at Jaemin while giggling.
“Why are you like that?” Joohyun hissed as Sooyoung and I just continued to giggle.
“Yunho is going to be livid when he finds out about this” Sooyoung commented with an evil smirk and I mirrored her reaction.
“Oh, really?” Joohyun’s tone turned darker as she looked at us with the same smirk “I guess he won’t take it well when he hears Jaemin is my date for tonight”
“What!” Joohyun just giggled as she hurried away to her mother’s tavern, leaving Sooyoung and I with our mouths hanging open.
“This girl!” Sooyoung just sighed as I started giggling again.
“At least she knows how to get a man...unlike us”
“Speak for yourself” Sooyoung nudged me, eyes narrowed “I always get what I want”
“I almost forgot” I rolled my eyes as she just chuckled and pulled me after her, going to Mrs. Bae’s tavern.
   The lights were dim in the room as I rushed underneath the covers, pretending to read when I heard my father’s steps getting louder.
“Y/N?” He asked as he knocked on the door, his deep voice soft.
“Come in” I cleared my throat as I looked at the door.
“You are reading…” He trailed off, looking around the room “I thought you left”
“Left? How?” I asked with a chuckle and dad only shook his head, which was lowered due to his height so that he wouldn’t hit in the doorframe.
“I’m sure I don’t have to say more” He raised his eyebrows and I chuckled as I lowered my book and slightly turned towards him, making sure the blankets still covered my whole body.
“You know I usually listen to you”
“Usually, that’s the problem” I chuckled and dad just sighed as he ran his fingers through his gelled back hair.
“I have to go now, you stay home, okay?” I just hummed as dad sighed again and turned around, closing the door behind him as he walked away. I grinned as I threw the blankets off my body, rushing to my mirror to clip my bangs to the side and place on red lipstick. I patted down my red dress, slipping on my sandals and taking the little jewelry box I quickly opened my window, glad that my room was on the first floor for the first time. Dad left a few minutes ago so it was safe for me to go too.
I know I’m doing wrong by not listening to him but I can take care of myself and it’s not like some legend is actually true. I carefully climbed out the window and closed it back, my sandals sinking into the sand of the beach.
“Hey!” I quietly called out, looking towards the bushes on the left, “Joohyun, Sooyoung”
“Is it okay to come out?” Sooyoung hissed quietly and I giggled as I answered a ‘yes’.
“Finally” Joohyun sighed as she stepped out first, patting down her light blue dress, “I’m never hiding in the bushes again for you”
“Next time this happens, drinks are on you” Sooyoung threw me a glare and I just laughed, walking up to hug them. Sooyoung’s dress was absolutely pretty, the green contrasting her red hair nicely.
“Why were you complaining about your dress?” I huffed as Sooyoung just scoffed, “It’s gorgeous”
“Yeah well...it’s not that bad…” Sooyoung just grimaced as both Joohyun and I snorted, she obviously likes it. She’s just too stubborn to admit it.
“Joohyun” I cutely smiled at Joohyun as I took her hand and placed the jewelry box in it.
“What’s this?” She asked confused, taking the box.
“Open it” I muttered and Joohyun’s eyebrows were furrowed as she opened it. Sooyoung’s mouth fell open as Joohyun gasped, quickly looking back at me.
“No, Y/N, why?” She whined like a little kid and I just shrugged.
“I saw you looking at it in the market”
“I can’t accept this” Joohyun quickly closed the box, trying to hand me back the light pink shell necklace.
“Yes, you can” I sassed back and Sooyoung took the box from Joohyun, opening it.
“This is really pretty” She muttered as she took the necklace out and turned Joohyun around.
“Next time tell me when you are in the mood to buy us something” Sooyoung muttered as she carefully placed the necklace on Joohyun.
“This isn’t fair” Joohyun just whined as she touched the shells tenderly, looking at me, “This costs a fortune, how will I pay it back?”
“Your friendship, both of you, is enough. I don’t need money or anything else, just you two” I smiled at Joohyun and Sooyoung gratefully while Joohyun just looked away while Sooyoung rolled her eyes.
“That’s cute, but now we need to go unless you want to miss out on the fun?”
“Let’s go!” We intertwined our fingers as we quickly took off towards the market.
Obviously, thanks to Sooyoung’s needs, we first stopped at the Inn to drink something. It was loud and more crowded than usual. Men usually populated this place, but now women were roaming around too.
“Something light or…?” Sooyoung raised her eyebrows as we made our way up to the bar.
“Beer” Joohyun was quick to call out as Mr. Kwon looked at us with his eyebrows raised. He’s a middle aged man who’s been working at this Inn ever since it opened.
“Three?” His eyes narrowed at us, trying to recognize us, “Miss Bae, Miss Park and...the Major’s daughter?”
“That’s right” Sooyoung flashed Mr. Kwon a cute smile, waving some cash in her hand. Mr. Kwon got the message and quickly handed us three big glasses of beer. Sooyoung liked her lips as she quickly drank it while I took my time. Joohyun’s eyebrows were furrowed as she carefully gulped down the contents of the glass. I shivered when I finally finished the beer, Sooyoung’s eyebrows raised at us as she already finished it.
“You are supposed to drink it faster” She said with a chuckle as I placed the glass on the high table beside us.
“I’m dizzy” Joohyun muttered as she took a last sip and placed the glass beside mine.
“What?” Sooyoung rolled her eyes as we made our way out “There’s no way you are already dizzy”
“It hits hard” Joohyun muttered as she clung onto my arm.
“This is beer, it can’t hit as hard as Vodka or whatever Mr. Kwon likes to mix” Sooyoung pushed some people away as they were blocking our path.
“Shut up” Joohyun snapped as she sent a little glare at Sooyoung “We are all different”
“Wow, they overdid themselves this year” Sooyoung’s voice was mocking as she stared at the market with a scoff on her lips.
“What did you expect? It’s the one-hundredth year anniversary of this Festival” Joohyun deadpanned, rolling her eyes.
“Well, I don’t think it’s bad” I shrugged while looking around. The market was cleared of the stalls, a decent looking stage placed at the other entrance as the middle was left empty for people to dance. On the stage, a band was singing some slow songs, an older band that had been playing ever since I was born. They are quite old but people here like them a lot, well, mostly elderly people.
“I should find Jaemin” Joohyun muttered as she looked around, just as people started clapping and the band left the stage only for another to come up.
“Good evening!” The young boy spoke loudly into the microphone, he was one of Jaemin’s friends, Jeno.
“We hope we can make you feel good tonight, have lots of fun!” The youngest, Jisung, spoke into his own microphone enthusiastically. The crowd clapped loudly, some even whistled.
“They do look good” Sooyoung’s lips pulled into a grimace as she watched the band pace around before starting to play some upbeat music.
“I’m going now” Joohyun flashed us an excited grin before running off towards Jaemin. Both Sooyoung and I watched with a pout as Joohyun was hugged by Jaemin, and our usually shy Bae Joohyun, actually kissed Jaemin on the lips.
“I didn’t see that coming” Sooyoung’s voice was surprised as I looked at her with my eyes wide.
“Well...at least she’s having fun tonight”
“Yah, if you think I’m not having fun tonight...you are wrong” Sooyoung crossed her arms in front of her chest as she pursed her lips at me.
“Are you leaving me too?” I asked with a sigh, maybe I’ll just go home after that.
“Not yet” Sooyoung flicked her hand, leaning closer to me “We have fun first”
I giggled as Sooyoung took my hand in hers and we went to join the others dancing, the music loud as people laughed and danced together. I grimaced at Sooyoung as she twirled me around, making her laugh. Our fingers intertwined as we danced around, bumping into people, even being able to tickle Joohyun as we passed by her, our dancing wilder than others. Some people glared at us when we just laughed but others joined us and soon we were breathless and retreating to a table that was empty by the stage.
“Oh, this is fun” Sooyoung laughed as she patted her forehead.
“Who needs boys, right?” I winked at her as I gathered my long hair in one hand, fanning myself.
“I do” Sooyoung pursed her lips and I just rolled my eyes, eyes falling on the crowd. I could see Joohyun dancing with Jaemin, a big grin on her lips as Jaemin was smirking at her. Unfortunately, it wasn’t just me who saw them, Yunho, on the other side of them was dancing with a girl, Soojin, but his eyes were on Joohyun and Jaemin his glare hard as it was directed at the happy couple.
“Yunho isn’t too happy” I muttered as Sooyoung searched the crowd, a snort leaving her lips.
“That’s what he deserves, Soojin is just made for him” At that both of us burst out laughing, Soojin being not one of the best girls in the town. After cooling off, Sooyoung waved at a bartender from the Inn and asked for water as we continued to sit at the table, wanting to rest just a little more.
As I looked around, my eyes lingered on the entrance to the market, a strange feeling enveloping me. I can’t be spotted by my father or Mrs. Han or else I’ll get in trouble. Just as I was about to look away, nine men came walking towards the market.
“Sooyoung” I called out, reaching for her arm to get her attention.
“What” She snapped as she ignored the boy that tried flirting with her “I was in the middle of some--oh”
“Exactly” My eyebrows furrowed as my eyes took in the figures of the nine men “Who are those?”
“I have no idea…” Sooyoung chuckled, a smirk forming on her lips “But they definitely live up to the image of a good man”
“They seem dangerous” I muttered as my eyes were drawn to the tallest one, his black hair curly as it fell messily on his tanned forehead. They all looked tanned, too tanned. My eyebrows furrowed as I let my eyes rest on them for longer, observing how they were dressed. Their pants were a dark green, form-fitting as they were tucked into black boots and they all wore white shirts, some tucked some not, their tanned chests on display.
“I don’t know about you” Sooyoung was on her feet, dusting her green dress of “But I really like what I see”
“Sooyoung” I finally averted my eyes from them, catching her hand when she went to move away, “We don’t know who they are. They could be dangerous people”
“And what if they are from the Sun Kingdom?” She raised her eyebrows.
“But we don’t know” I insisted and Sooyoung only rolled her eyes, shrugging my grip off her hand.
“And I will get to know them, unlike you” She shrugged as she walked away with a small wave, heading to the Inn, where these nine mysterious men disappeared to. I sighed watching as Sooyoung had a bounce in her step, greeting a few people. Now I really am alone, should I head home? But as that crossed my mind, suddenly someone appeared in front of me. I looked up to see Yeri smiling down at me.
“Did your friends ditch you?” She asked.
“Oh...I guess they did” I chuckled, scooting over to let her sit down.
“Well, Seulgi and Wendy unnie left me alone” Yeri sighed as she looked at me “And I saw you sitting here so I thought I’d come up and speak to you”
“Thanks, Yeri” I patted her shoulder, making her smile widely back, “Do you not have a date?”
“Oh...well, I kinda did” She played with her blonde hair, biting her lip “But I guess I was ditched”
“By whom?” My eyebrows furrowed as Yeri just sighed.
“Yuta” She muttered and I snorted loudly. Yeri’s head whipped in my direction, eyebrows raised.
“Yuta is a charmer, you should have known better. He targets young girls, don’t fall for his flirting anymore, okay?”
“I realized that too” Yeri just pouted, voice quiet.
“Well, since we both are dateless...let’s go and dance!” I exclaimed, pulling Yeri up with me. She giggled as she followed after me, waving at Jisung and Chenle when I dragged her to the front of the stage.
“Why are you dateless?” She raised her voice, swaying to the music.
“Because my father forbid me from coming”
“Why?” Yeri asked surprised, giggling when I twirled her around.
“White moon, usual superstitions” I just rolled my eyes and Yeri giggled again, bumping her hip into mine. We both giggled as we made eye contact and wiggled our butts to the rhythm.
“Y/N” She spoke up as we connected our palms, dancing in circles “Did you see those men that came?”
“I did, don’t speak to them” I warned her, changing places with a jump “They can be dangerous”
“What if they are pirates?” She bit her lip in excitement as I tensed a little, looking around quickly.
“They disappeared eight years ago” I answered, holding her hand in one hand as we got away from the stage, dancing more in the center of the market.
“But my brother says that there was a crew sailing around the Moon Kingdom and rumors say they are ruthless and powerful. You know my brother wouldn’t lie about something like that” Yeri’s eyebrows were furrowed as I hummed, twirling around as she pushed me around. From too many spins, I became disoriented and ended up tripping over my feet and sent Yeri back, making her giggle. She almost fell on her butt but she seemed like she wasn’t bothered by it as some hands steadied her by the waist. My eyes shoot up at the face of the person, only to make me tense when I realized it was the tallest of the nine mysterious man.
“Tricky these dances are, aren’t they?” His deep voice rumbled over the loud music, making me quite surprised that someone like him could have such deep voice. From closer up, his eyes were too big and lips plump, his ears big almost as if he was a Fairy.
“Good enough if they sent me in the arms of a man like you” Yeri was quick to answer and my jaw almost dropped open upon her words. The man’s lips quirked up in amusement as he pushed her slightly away, to let her stand on her own feet.
“Would you mind dancing with me then?” But before Yeri could answer, I gripped her arm and pulled her behind me. Yeri remained silent as I narrowed my eyes at the taller man in front of us.
“She’s not up for a dance with strangers, sorry” I said, voice steady and stern as the man’s eyebrows shoot up.
“And are you her mother to tell her what she can and can’t do?” The man was quick to fire back and I raised my eyebrows at him.
“And who are you to ask such question from a young girl? Dancing? Seriously?” That seemed to shut the man up as he glanced at Yeri once again, his eyes racking over the little body that was still visible from behind me. He seemed like he realized how young Yeri looked and lowered his head a little, almost like in a bow.
“My apologies Miss, I did not realize how...young she looked…” His tone was sarcastic, dripping with teasing and I just smiled at him, obviously not affected by his words.
“Yerim, go find your friends” I muttered to the younger girl as she nodded and patted my shoulder before running off.
“Seems like you don’t have a partner to dance with anymore” I clasped my hands together in front of me as I smiled up at the tall man, “What a pity...”
“That’s truly a pity” He rubbed his jaw as if he was thinking but then a dangerous glint appeared in his eyes “And since you are the cause of a potential dance partner leaving me...how about you dance with me?”
I chuckled loudly, raising my eyebrows at him, “I don’t trust strangers”
“In that case...I’m Chanyeol” He extended his hand and I glanced at it but didn’t shake it, “Come on, we aren’t strangers anymore”
“Fair enough, I’m Y/N” I gave him my name as well and a smirk appeared on Chanyeol’s lips.
“So...you owe me a dance, Y/N” He muttered, stepping closer. I flashed him a confident smile, maybe I can get some information out of him.
“One dance” I pointed a finger at him and Chanyeol just nodded his head, extending his hand for me to take. Walking us back to the dancing people, Chanyeol’s big hands landed on my waist as I grabbed his elbows. The beat of the music slowly turned slower and slower, until people were swaying to the beat in partners.
“This place seems lovely” Chanyeol spoke up as he lead us to the beat of the music.
“It is” I nodded, looking up into his eyes “Where do you come from?”
For a little moment, his eyes narrowed into slits, but as fast as they came they were gone. A big smile spread on his pink lips, eyes glinting in the lights of the market.
“From the sea” I cocked an eyebrow, lips pulling into an amused grin.
“What a surprise, I would have never guessed” At my tone Chanyeol laughed quietly, but I waited for a real answer.
“Me and my comrades are from the Seven Seas Kingdom” My eyes widened a little bit as Chanyeol hummed along the music, bringing me a little closer to him. The Seven Seas Kingdom is up in the far North, those who travelled there say that people are ruthless and don’t like new comers. The waters are always harsh there, the weather a lot colder than here, in the South.
“Then what are you doing here?” I asked, eyebrows now furrowed as I watched Chanyeol’s lips twitch.
“We are...explorers” That didn’t sound too convincing as he said it, his eyes narrowed when he probably saw I didn’t believe him entirely.
“We wanted to see new places, meet new people. This is my favorite so far” I smiled at him, growing a little stiff when he leaned down.
“And the girls here…” He trailed off with a chuckle, a smirk settling on his lips “are quite beautiful, those people who said so sure didn’t lie”
I snorted, detaching myself from Chanyeol as the song ended and Jeno said his goodbyes before a girl band would take over their place.
“I bet those people had some great experiences here” Chanyeol just smirked as I looked past him to see Sooyoung with a man that arrived with Chanyeol. His light brown hair was pushed back, his jaw sharp as his head hovered dangerously close to Sooyoung’s. My eyebrows furrowed as I watched them dance, not happy to see Sooyoung so careless.
“Ah, do you know her perhaps?” Chanyeol was quick to see the change in my face as he turned around, eyes on Sooyoung and his comrade.
“She’s my friend” I answered, looking back at Chanyeol to see him nodding at the man who was smirking. I really don’t like this.
“He’s Baekhyun, a comrade of mine” Chanyeol looked back at me, his features holding amusement “Don’t worry, he’s a good guy. I’m sure your friend will enjoy her time with him...”
“Yeah, I bet she will” I muttered rather unhappily as the town clock gonged loudly, alerting us that it was midnight. Since I promised my father I wouldn’t come, but I still did, the most I could do was at least go back by midnight.
“Well, if you are looking for fun I suggest you find someone else” I smiled at Chanyeol as he raised his eyebrows.
“I’m leaving...but you can search for a girl called Soojin, she’s quite fun to hang out with...at least that’s what I heard from men around town” I winked at Chanyeol and before he could say a word, I turned around and left the place, hurrying home hoping that father didn’t arrive before me.
                                                      ~~~
     Usually, on a Sunday morning, the town is quiet, everyone enjoying their time with their families. But the loud noises outside steered me awake, eyebrows furrowing as I sat up in my bed, rubbing my eyes. The Major’s house wasn’t far from the market but you still had to walk down the beach or go through the little street to get there. There was some sort of commotion happening outside that I didn’t understand as I got out of bed, opening my door.
“Father!” I called, walking around the house “Are you home?”
There was no response as I knocked on his study door so I pushed the door open, indeed finding it empty.
“Father--” My sentence got cut off by the shrill scream that traveled around the beach and into the house. I froze, heart picking up. I know that scream, I could recognize it anytime.
Throwing the door open, in a haze, I picked up my white gown and threw it over my nightgown as I ran down the beach, barefoot. The wind whipped at my face as my feet sank into the sand, heart beating faster and faster as there was another scream, from the same person. The splashing sounds of the water only edged me on to go faster, the market coming in view as I spotted the people gathered around the stage that was placed for the festival. I ran even faster, lungs burning as I finally got off the beach, feet aching when it made contact with the wood and sand on the ground of the market. I pushed the people out of my way, eyes wide when I could see the people on the stage. A blonde man was holding Sooyoung, holding a knife to her neck while the one who she danced with yesterday night, Baekhyun, was threateningly holding a sword towards Sooyoung’s family. My heart seemed to fall flat when I saw little Yeri, with tears streaming down her cheeks, as she was held by Chanyeol. No, this can’t happen. I flinched back when someone suddenly gripped my hand.
“Y/N” Joohyun’s voice was shaky as she stared at me wide eyed “They--they are pirates”
“What!” I breathed out, still trying to catch my breath.
“They want to take Sooyoung and Yeri” Joohyun continued and I almost choked on air as I looked back towards the stage. It seemed like Sooyoung’s eyes found us as she stared at us, face blank but her eyes held fear. No, this can’t happen, not to them.
“Mother!” Yeri called out when Chanyeol suddenly started dragging her away and my muscles tensed as I knew I had to do something.
“No!” I screamed, pushing past the few people that were in front of me, Joohyun still gripping my arm, “Let them go!”
The people went silent, shocked as they stared at me. The pirates were looking at me amused, but the blonde one looked surprised even. As my eyes darted around, I saw my father’s wide eyes as he was pushing the people out of his way.
“I’m not letting you take them!” I screamed, looking directly into Chanyeol’s eyes as he stared at me with a smirk.
“Oh really?” His deep voice resonated in the market as people covered back, “What are you going to do?”
“Y/N, no” My father’s harsh voice made me jump, wide eyes looking at him “Stop it”
“Y/N, you can’t--”
“I have an offer” Chanyeol’s voice silenced my father as we looked back at him, “You give us your daughter and these two girls can stay”
The market went dead silent as my heart stopped beating. I felt all eyes slowly fall on me and I gulped. By now, Joohyun’s grip felt normal but the way she was squeezing it suddenly made my whole arm go numb.
“Y/N” She whispered, eyes searching for mine.
“No” My father said, head held high as he looked at Chanyeol and the other three pirates, “I will not let you waltz into my town and take away our women. My daughter or not, you can’t take them”
At that, the three pirates started laughing and people started muttering around us.
“Or we can kill you, it’s your choice” Baekhyun said with a shrug and I glared at him hard.
“Let them go” I said again, eyes pleading as I looked back at Chanyeol.
“Come with us then” Chanyeol tilted his head with a grin and I gulped as Joohyun whimpered beside me.
“I’m not letting you take her!” My father shouted as he charged forward and I gasped when suddenly two more people jumped out from the town people, swords pointed at my father.
“One more step and you are dead” A man with big eyes and a killer gaze spoke up. My father stopped abruptly and silence once again settled over the market until Yeri’s brother turned towards me.
“Go” He spoke up, eyes narrowed at me “They want you, go with them!”
Yeri’s eyes were wide as she stared at her brother, unable to speak.
“Yes, they want you not my Sooyoung!” Mrs. Park screamed, pointing a finger at me.
“Very well” Chanyeol smiled and he nodded at Baekhyun and the blonde man who let go of Sooyoung and they both took off, coming towards me. Before my father could react he was held back by a gentle-faced man, hold firm.
“Y/N, no, wait, please--” My father continued calling out as Baekhyun grabbed my arm and urged me forward.
“No.” Joohyun’s grip was iron like as she glared straight in the eyes of the blond haired man, “I’m not letting go of her”
“Then you come too” The blond haired man scoffed as he gripped Joohyun by the arm, trying to pull her off me but she was not letting go. Now that Sooyoung was free, her mother was clutching her to her chest as Sooyoung watched with tears in her eyes.
“Kill me if you want to but I’m not letting go of her” Joohyun’s voice was low and her eyes screamed murder.
“What about you come with us then?” Chanyeol suddenly proposed as he roughly pushed Yeri away from him, who stumbled a little before running to her brother.
“I said, let her go” She hissed as she gripped the blond haired man’s arm tightly, the man had a cheshire grin on his face.
“Sorry, but I can’t do that, Miss” He almost looked apologetic as he flashed Joohyun a look before hauling her up by the waist, her grip instantly disappearing from my arm.
“No, let me go!” Joohyun screamed as she started kicking around, Baekhyun suddenly picked up his pace as he dragged me off. I couldn’t do anything but stumble after them, not if I wanted the town and my friends safe. Joohyun’s cries were loud as she screamed after us, probably putting up a fight with the pirate. I caught Sooyoung’s regretful eyes before I was fully dragged out of the market and my father’s tearful eyes. It was okay, I saved people. So after all, pirates were really real. That should have been a shock but I was expecting it in some ways, it was too good to be true, as some would say.
Baekhyun’s grip on my arm was still harsh but he wasn’t dragging me after him anymore, rather walking beside me, whistling quietly as Chanyeol led the way. The other pirates were behind us and as we neared the beach, the blond man ran up to us, cheek a little red and forearms marked with red scratch marks.
“That friend of yours is quite feisty” He chuckled as he fell in step with Baekhyun and me, chest falling and rising quickly. I refused to acknowledge him but I couldn’t fight off the little grin that appeared on my lips, serves him right for touching Joohyun.
“May I get her name?” His question was polite, a charming smile on his lips. I scoffed but still didn’t spear him a glance, my eyes glaring daggers into Chanyeol’s broad back.
“I wouldn’t mind having fun with her when we return” The blond haired man muttered and that ticked a nerve as I flinched away from Baekhyun, jumping to the blonde haired man’s collar.
“Don’t even dream about it. You have me, leave her alone” I hissed as the others eyed us amused, Chanyeol with a scowl on his face.
“All are women like you in this town?” Baekhyun only laughed at the question, pulling me off the blonde haired man quite roughly.
“I guess yes, you have no idea how hard it was to get Sooyoung to finally shut up last night” At that the boys cackled and I looked at Baekhyun, my glare directed at him.
“You don’t scare me” He chuckled, looking down at me “I’ve dealt with scarier things, and I know how to shut you up”
I felt like gagging at his wink but got distracted by the huge ship in front of us. How did we not see this? Was it here all the time? When did they arrive? I wish I did listen to father and didn’t go to the festival last night.
“We have our ways” The big eyed man spoke up behind me, examining my face as if he read my thoughts, “We hid the ship, we aren’t stupid”
“Anyone with two eyes would see such huge ship” I muttered, biting my lower lip when I was getting dragged into the water in order to reach the ship.
“Let’s call it…” A weird grin stretched on the same man’s lips “Magick”
“As if” I scoffed but the man just remained with the same grin, making me feel uneasy. The water reached my waist by the time we reached the ship and I already regretted wearing such a nice gown. The salt water probably ruined it, not like I could wear it anymore, who knows what will happen to me now. I’ve heard enough horrible stories about women who are taken by pirates.
Chanyeol was the first one to climb up the ladder, easily jumping on the ship. I was nudged forward and I almost fell face first into the water. I turned around to glare at Baekhyun but he wasn’t even looking at me.
“We haven’t got all day” He shrugged, pursing his lips “Go on, hurry, little princess”
“Don’t call me that!” I snapped at him, angrily gripping the ladder and hauling myself out of the water, “Try to peek and you are dead”
The men bellow hollered in laughter as I scoffed, eyes set into a glare as I climbed the poorly bid stairs of the rope. It was hard to climb it, it was cutting my feet and the wet dress was another weight on my body. Great choice to wear all white, Y/N, really amazing I must congratulate myself.
To my relief, there was a hand extended for me when I reached the top and I grabbed it tightly, jumping on the other side of the railing. I was stunned when I looked up, the youthful face handsome and sharp.
“Come” He muttered lowly, voice not too deep as his grip was gentle but firm.
“Where are you taking me?” I asked, panic rising in my voice as the boy sighed.
“To your room”
“My-my room?” I asked wide eyed, looking at the boy’s face. He seemed serious, not giving much away.
“Captain Park said so” He just shrugged as we descended the desk that led underneath the deck.
“Captain Park” I scoffed, finding it amusing. It sounded amusing. He’s just an asshole, not worth the respect.
“I suggest you don’t anger him, he’s not pleasant when he loses his temper” The boy commented casually, opening a black door. The room was definitely not big, far from my room back at the Major’s house. There was a bed in the left corner, just enough to fit a single person. A little closet on the opposite and a desk on the right side with a fallen chair. The light was dangling from the ceiling, and I haven’t seen something like that before.
“It’s not that horrible, just listen to the captain” The boy said as he gently pushed me inside the room, “I’m Sehun, by the way”
“Okay” I muttered, eyeing the waiting boy. He had his eyebrows raised, waiting for something.
“Y/N” I muttered, realizing he wanted to know my name. For the first time he smiled, he looked even younger, before he turned around and left me alone, closing the door behind him. I sighed and went to sit on the bed, not bothering to raise the chair back to its place. Curse this whole day.
   I was left alone for a short time before I heard loud voices above me and I figured it was the boys from the deck. The ship suddenly jolted and my heart clenched, we are taking off. This really is happening, they really are taking me away from my home, my family and my friends. The door opened and I couldn’t help it but glare at the man standing in the doorway.
“I hope you like your room” He grinned, stepping inside uninvited. I glared more at him, murdering him in my mind. It’s all his fault I’m here right now. If he didn’t have to show his masculinity back in town, I could still be at home, but no, he needs to show off.
“Did you forget how to speak, sweetheart?” He asked with a chuckle when I scoffed, still glaring at him.
“You wish I did, and don’t call me sweetheart” I snapped at the pirate.
“I guess you are quite shocked” Chanyeol smirked, only now did I see he had some clothes in his hands.
“Shocked? Not really. Angry? Very much” I flashed him a sweet smile, standing up when he started coming closer towards me.
“Why so snappy? You were nicer yesterday night” Chanyeol pouted fakely and I rolled my eyes, standing with my back straight.
“Yesterday night I thought I was speaking to a man, not a pirate”
“You make it sound like we aren’t human, sweetheart” My jaw clenched at the usage of the nickname as I crossed my arms in front of my chest.
“Are you though?” I raised my eyebrows, gaining Chanyeol’s attention as he was looking around the room before, “If you say you are human, why do you steal, rob towns and kill people? Why did you take me away? I tell you why, for your own sick entertainment. You are just a bunch of assholes who grew up in a bad family and now have to show their superiority to others by such acts? You know what Chanyeol? You got yourself the wrong girl if you think I will obey you or anyone on this ship. Filthy pirates”
“Watch your language” Chanyeol’s deep voice raised an octave as he glared at me, “I won’t let someone like you treat me without respect. A little princess who was raised in wealth and luxury? You have no idea what’s waiting for you”
“Really? What makes you think I’m not going to kill myself the second you leave this room?” I challenged Chanyeol, knowing well damn it was wrong. I shouldn’t test my limits.
“If you want that town to live, you won’t, trust me” He chuckled, standing too close to me for my liking.
“Don’t expect me to respect you, not after what you did, you are just a filthy pirate who probably has some daddy or mommy issues and doesn’t know how to--”
“You will--” Chanyeol’s big palm gripped my neck harshly, cutting my words off “listen to me and obey me. I won’t be treated without respect. You have one week to prove yourself to be useful before I send you out on the dark market or feed you to the sharks. If you know what’s best for you, you will listen to me”
I didn’t want to show it, but I knew the second Chanyeol smirked that the fear I felt was obvious in my eyes. He pushed me away, making me fall on the bed as he strode towards the door, head held high.
“And you won’t be wearing those princess clothes anymore” He chuckled mockingly and my jaw clenched as he slammed the door closed after him.
“I’m not a princess!” I screamed at the top of my lungs, falling in the bed limply, closing my eyes when I suddenly felt them fill with tears. No, I can’t go to the dark market or die, I need to go back to my father and friends. I couldn’t help it but curl up in a ball and let the tears fall as sleep quickly took over me.
                                                    ~~~
     The heavy knocks on my door woke me up from my deep slumber, eyebrows furrowing when I sat up. At first, I felt confused as to why was I slightly swaying but soon realized I was on the ship with those pirates.
“The captain wants you on deck in ten minutes, I suggest you hurry, princess” Baekhyun’s irritating voice made me furrow my eyebrows as I groaned loudly.
“I’m not a princess!” I shouted again for everyone to hear, jumping out of bed. I kept huffing as I paced up and down in the room, not wanting the pirates to see me in my nightgown, it’s quite see-through. What about the clothes Chanyeol brought in yesterday? I suppose they are for me to wear since they don’t have any female clothes. I sighed as I eyed them, thankfully they seemed clean, and quickly got myself dressed. I pulled my hair in a high ponytail, tying it with a rope I always keep on my wrist, just in case. The clothes weren’t too big and they surprisingly fit well, only around the hip area were they a little too baggy. With a grimace, I opened the door and went back the way I was lead here yesterday by Sehun. The hallway was darker than upstairs, so as soon as I stepped into the light my eyes started hurting. I groaned loudly as I walked up to the stairs to the deck, the chatter stopping between the pirates.
“What!” I snapped as nine eyes were on me. I felt a little intimidated but I kept my back straight and head high, that’s how my father taught me, no matter what the situation is, I show who I am.
“She doesn’t look like a princess to me” A man with a weird accent whispered, not quietly, obviously, if I heard him, to the man beside him who had peaceful features. His comrade only chuckled before looking back at me.
“Welcome, princess, I’m glad we didn’t have to drag you up here ourselves” The deep voice beside me was so sudden that it made me jump. The pirates snickered as I glared at all of them.
“That’s probably best for you” I snapped as I looked at Chanyeol “You are not allowed to touch me in any ways”
“Oh really?” Chanyeol asked as a smirk spread on his lips. If he is trying to humiliate me in front of these men, I hope he stops before I kick him in the balls, I’m not afraid to do it.
“That refers to all of you” I snapped, looking back at the other eight boys.
“Captain, why did you take her? She sounds annoying” A man with cat like eyes commented as he was sitting on some wood barrel, sharpening his daggers.
“I didn’t have much of a choice” Chanyeol sighed beside me and my eyes widened.
“You didn’t have much of a choice?” My voice raised as I looked back at him “You could have easily left my town without showing off, you asshole. Wasn’t I clear enough last night? Do you want me to repeat my thoughts about you all? Would you like the boys hear my thoughts as well?”
Chanyeol’s eyes narrowed as he took a step towards me, making me take a step back away from him.
“If you want to live, shut up” I snickered at Chanyeol’s threat, crossing my arms in front of my chest.
“Really, I’m not afraid of you” I grinned at him but Chanyeol’s jaw was gritted as he suddenly grabbed my arm harshly. I was about to protest but he started dragging me harshly after him, I tried fighting my way out of his hold but he was obviously stronger.
“Stop” I hissed at him as he stopped right by the edge of the ship, a piece of the railing missing here. The ship was rocking stronger as the wind picked up, waves also stronger. A wrong move and I’d be sent into the sea underneath us.
“See this?” Chanyeol muttered darkly, his grip tightening only a little bit, “Keep that attitude going and this will be your faith”
I yelped when Chanyeol pushed me just a little forward and I quickly latched onto his arm, afraid that he’d really push me into the water.
“You have no power over me, Y/N, don’t forget that” He looked directly into my eyes before pulling me back harshly from the edge, eyes still on me as I slapped his hand off my arm.
“Did you enjoy the show?” I sneered at the rest of the crew as they were looking at us curiously, my comment made them crack up.
“It wasn’t even that entertaining” Sehun said with a shrug and I glared at him.
“Since you are already here” I flinched away from the hand on my back, glaring hard at the tanned boy, “Your help would be nice around the deck”
“My help? I’d rather root away in my room” I scoffed making the boys laugh.
“Actually, Jongin, that’s an amazing idea” Chanyeol grinned as his eyes lit up, teeth showing. I stared at him a little longer, finding that expression adorable. No, what the hell, we hate Chanyeol, remember?
“I know it is” Jongin grinned as he placed his hand again on my back, making me step away from him.
“So, what are you thinking about?” Chanyeol asked as he eyed Jongin curiously.
“She can be our personal maid!” Jongin exclaimed and my eyes widened as affirmative responses came from the other boys.
“Oh no” I shook my head with an almost hysterical laugh, “I’m not going to clean your mess or be ordered around by you. You did it yourself before, keep doing it. If not, I’d rather jump into the water by myself”
“She’s funny” The blond haired man from yesterday said with a loud cackle, earning a grin from Baekhyun and an eye roll from the big eyed boy.
“I wouldn’t mind some help though” The cat like eyed man spoke up, putting his dagger finally away as he seemed pleased, “Cleaning up the mess after them can be horrifying”
“Exactly my thoughts” I nodded eagerly, pointing my finger at each pirate, “I’m not going to clean their dirt”
“That hurt, princess” Baekhyun placed a hand against his chest “We aren’t that filthy”
“Yes, you all are just some filthy pira--”
“If you’d like…” The big eyed boy spoke up, voice softer than what I was expecting it to be, “You can help out in the kitchen today and clean up tomorrow”
“My room needs cleaning today” The weird accented guy said with a pout, he actually looked cute.
“Clean it yourself” I scoffed, crossing my arms in front of my chest.
“Here” I jumped at the loud sound when the blond haired man and Chanyeol dropped different cleaning items in front of me, “You can start right now”
Chanyeol’s grin was the most annoying one, making me fum with anger. I huffed as I picked up a cleaning rug and stormed off, knowing I didn’t have much of a choice but to clean the ship. Screw these pirates.
   Was I right to call them filthy? Oh yes, I was very right. I wonder if these boys even know what washing a cloth is? Except like three people, their clothes smelled horrible and I was forced, by my own brain this time, to wash their clothes as best as I could with the salty water and some soap I found in the ‘dungeons’. It was just actually the storage room underneath all the other rooms, basically the bottom of the ship.
After washing their clothes and proudly hanging them up on a rope on deck, I finished cleaning their rooms, actually happy they didn’t posses many things. But the dust was horrible in one room and I didn’t even want to find out whose it was. By dinner time I was spent as I usually don’t do this at home, we had a house maid who did this job. Sometimes I would help her, but my father wasn’t too fond of the idea. I was forced to not wear the little vest as the burning sun was making me sweat like crazy on deck. Yes, I even had to clean the deck. When I finally finished cleaning, the big eyes man, who’s name is Kyungsoo, approached me cautiously.
“I don’t bite, you know” I muttered, rolling my eyes as I tapped away the sweat on my forehead with some mop I found in my room.
“I take your threats seriously, I still need my private parts, you know” I couldn’t fight back the little smile as I looked at the boy.
“Dinner is ready, you should come and eat with us” The boy continued to watch me as I stood up and rolled down the sleeves of the white shirt.
“Are you the cook or something?” I asked Kyungsoo as we made our way down, heading for the kitchen.
“I can cook too, to their luck otherwise they’d die of hunger” I couldn’t help it but chuckle, imagining Baekhyun whining for food like a little kid. It’s my first day on this ship, what am I doing going around imagining things? No, get yourself together, Y/N. You are the daughter of the Major and you need to get back to Shell somehow.
“That would be nice to watch” I muttered barely but Kyungsoo still heard it and chuckled, opening the door for me. I offered him a thankful smile as the others stopped whatever they were doing, eyes set on us.
“Wow, she smiled” Sehun was the first to break the silence, his face just as blank as his voice. I rolled my eyes and went to sit beside Minseok, the cat like eyed man, rather than Jongdae, blond haired man, who had a dangerous grin on his lips. Kyungsoo occupied the seat beside Jongdae and the boys suddenly went back to eating, digging into their food. Even though Baekhyun was sitting across from me, his loud chewing was getting on my nerves as he kept grinning at what Yixing, the weird accented guy, was telling him. Junmyeon, kind faced guy, kept sighing beside me as he slowly ate his food. My mouth pulled into a grimace when Kyungsoo placed some rice and fish on my plate.
“Oh, princess doesn’t like the food?” Chanyeol mocked from the head of the table. I rolled my eyes and started eating the rice, eyeing the fish.
“You can eat it, I made sure it’s well cooked” Kyungsoo eyed me as I hesitantly teared the fish apart to take out the little bones.
“I don’t exactly like fish” I muttered and Minseok eyed me as him, Junmyeon, Yixing and Kyungsoo were the only ones eating like civilized people.
“Aren’t you from a shore town?” Minseok asked, eyebrows furrowed.
“That has nothing to do with me liking or not fish, it’s not my favorite dish” I shrugged as I slowly chewed the food.
“Well, princess, you’ll have to get used to it...or at least for this week” Chanyeol smirked when I glared at him.
“One week?” Sehun asked curiously, stealing some pepper from Jongin’s plate when he was busy staring at Chanyeol.
“If she’s not useful to us, we are sending her to the dark market. Our next stop is in the Vest Kingdom, so we shouldn’t worry” Chanyeol spoke with authority and the boys remained quiet as he continued, “I’m sure Blackpink wouldn’t mind an addition to the team”
“Jennie and Jisoo would be thrilled to hear” Baekhyun said with a smirk, mouth full of food. I glared at him for not being able to eat like a normal person.
“Who’s Blackpink?” I finally voiced my thoughts, looking around, eyes landing on Junmyeon who sighed once again.
“An organization of girls, a cult, anything you want to call it...they take girls and teach them different things...if they are good fighters, they add them to the Vest Army under Rose’s division, sometimes Lisa gets new girls for entertainment purposes or...Jennie and Jisoo get new girls either for prostitution or different criminal activities” Junmyeon’s explanation made me gulp hard as the boys eyes were on me.
“I don’t...want to meet these girls” I muttered, looking down at my food as I continued to eat.
“Then be a good girl” I could practically hear the smirk in Chanyeol’s voice but for once I decided to gulp down my remark with my food, it won’t do anything good. I don’t want to get to the hands of Blackpink...especially not to Jennie and Jisoo’s hands.
   After dinner, I was nice enough to offer and wash the dishes as the boys left me behind, apparently going back to the deck, cards and bottles in their hands. They were definitely not up to something good. My hands felt numb by the time I finally finished washing the dishes. Drying my hands on my brown pants, I left the kitchen, heading to my room when I heard someone groaning from the top of the stairs. Curiosity getting the best of me, I took a peek only to see Kyungsoo glaring at the steps, leaning against the railing. I was just about to leave when he called my name.
“Y/N?”
“Yes?” He sounded unsure, almost confused.
“Could you help me?” My eyebrows shoot up but I climbed the stairs and joined Kyungsoo.
“What happened?” I asked curiously, realizing he was drunk as his clothes smelled of some strong liquor.
“Oh, we went to play cards and I drank too much” He chuckled, his eyes not exactly on me “Now I’m drunk and can’t descend the stairs...could you help me out a little?”
I sighed but took Kyungsoo’s arm and placed it around my neck, letting him lean against my body.
“I feel sick” He muttered and I almost cringed away, afraid that he’d throw up.
“Why did you drink then?” I asked instead, taking one step at a time, careful to not fall.
“We need to loosen up from time to time” He just shrugged and I huffed as we got to the bottom of the stairs.
“Which is your room?” I asked as I walked down the corridor with Kyungsoo.
“The one beside the kitchen” He muttered, swaying a little, almost knocking us over. I chuckled, looking at him.
“The cook is closest to the kitchen, the boys would die without you here” I muttered and it made Kyungsoo laugh a little too loudly.
“They are good boys, you know” He hiccuped as we arrived to his room, “Especially Chanyeol, just give them time. Chanyeol is pretending to be all this big and bad boy, but he’s actually softer than any of us--”
Kyungsoo’s eyebrows furrowed as I helped him sit on the bed, glad that his weight was finally off me, “Well, maybe he’s not softer than Jongin, but he’s nice, you know”
“He didn’t leave the best impression” I muttered as I headed to his closet, opening it.
“I’m surprised my clothes fit you that well” Kyungsoo muttered as he eyed me taking out his clothes.
“Your clothes?” I asked surprised, turning towards him.
“Yeah, mine” He chuckled and I grinned a little as I went back to him.
“Can I help you change, you smell awful” I grimaced a little and Kyungsoo hummed.
“So it was me” I chuckled a little as he struggled out of his shirt.
“I’m sure the others are just as smelly as you are and I’m also sure I’m not helping them as well” Kyungsoo laughed drunkenly and held his hands up like a little boy as I fidgeted with the clean shirt.
“You know…” Kyungsoo trailed off for a second as he looked at me seriously with his big glinting eyes, “I’m surprised how much I like you, it’s only the second day of having you here”
“Well, at least I know someone likes me genuinely” I muttered as I buttoned Kyungsoo’s shirt rather clumsily as the waves were harsher tonight and rocked the ship more.
“I guess you don’t like us…” Kyungsoo trailed off, again, watching the ceiling.
“I do like you, it’s just--” I sighed as Kyungsoo and I locked eyes, “You stole me away from my life. I didn’t want this, your Captain dragged me into this mess. I want to go back to my father and my friends. I miss them so much and it’s been only two days, Kyungsoo. I want to escape from this nightmare. Every day I wake up I just hope it was another bad dream, but then Baekhyun whistles ‘princess’ outside my door and I know I’m in the same hell”
Kyungsoo chuckled at my last words and sighed as he gripped my arm, carefully laying down as I helped him.
“I understand how you feel, because I was once like you” He muttered so quietly I almost didn’t hear him, “My life, our lives, weren’t like this always. There’s horrible things out there in the world and we stumbled upon one of them”
“What do you mean?” I asked softly, my eyebrows furrowed in confusion as Kyungsoo pulled me to sit down on his bed, hand still holding onto my arm.
“We were once all carefree kids, running around the markets in our Kingdom and causing mischief” He smiled fondly at the memory, eyes closing, “But one day...Chanyeol stumbled upon something dangerous and that cursed us…”
I stared at Kyungsoo’s peaceful face as I let his words replay in my head. Chanyeol stumbled upon something dangerous and that cursed them? That made no sense. I didn’t see Kyungsoo as the one to believe in fairytales. Was he so drunk that his mind made up stories? They do say after all...drunk men tell no lies. My head swirled with confusion that night as I left Kyungsoo’s room and headed to mine to rest. Were they really cursed? But how did that happen?
                                                   ~~~
     Next day I was up before the sun was. I decided Kyungsoo deserved a good breakfast after the night he had. He most definitely will be hangover. It leaves me confused as to how the swinging of the ship doesn’t make them feel sick as every morning I wake up I feel dizzy and lightheaded.
Thankfully, I knew my way to the kitchen and didn’t cause any hubbub, however, I did stumble into a chair placed in front of Baekhyun’s room, which left me confused. Why was the chair there in the first place? It wasn’t an easy task finding every ingredient for the seaweed soup I planned on cooking which Mrs. Han taught me after my father had a huge hungover and couldn’t stand up from his bed for a whole day. There was no pepper but paprika would work as well. I hummed quietly to myself as I added all ingredients into the cauldron, careful with the fire of the stove. A very weird stove that I had to stare at for at least ten minutes before I figured how it worked...at least they have a stove. I also figured if Kyungsoo drank so much the other boys must have done the same, and as much as I don’t like them, I don’t wish to hear all day some men whining about how bad they are feeling or worse...having them throw up which I would have to clean afterwards, disgusting. I moved around quietly as I looked for a cup and spoon that I could take to Kyungsoo.
Today I felt rather creative so before leaving my room I decided I would freshen up a bit my outfit. The pants were too warm as I spent my days out in the blazing sun on deck and decided that I could just shorten them, like Sooyoung’s sister taught me once. Just the thought of Sooyoung brought tears to my eyes but I blinked them away knowing she was safe, and focused rather on the little happiness I felt after successfully designing these new pants for myself. I hope Kyungsoo wouldn’t mind seeing as I ripped one of his pants.
I jumped as someone cleared their throat behind me, slamming the cup down against the table beside me.
“What are you doing?” The deep voice was hoarse and I turned around with a glare.
“Cooking, obviously” I muttered as I took in Chanyeol’s disheveled form. He looked horrible, honestly. The only thing that sat rightly on him were his pants. His blue shirt was wrinkled and all buttons undone and black curly hair sticking out in every possible direction while his face looked swelled.
“Are you planning on poisoning us?” He chuckled as he shuffled inside the kitchen, eyebrows furrowed as he held onto his head.
“I wish I was doing just that...but no” I answered Chanyeol as I watched him amused. He seemed disoriented as he opened cupboards.
“What are you searching for?” I asked curiously as I watched him hiss as he closed his eyes. Just how strong was the liquor they drank last night?
“Stop asking questions or else my brain will blow up” Chanyeol hissed and I chuckled as he drew closer opening and slamming the doors of the cupboards.
“Then I shall gladly continue questioning you” I said with a smirk when Chanyeol sent me a dark glare, making me chuckle. Who would take a man seriously when he looked like that? He stopped in front of me and I tensed as he leaned up and opened the cupboard above me, his chest pressing dangerously close to my face. Bare chest, tanned chest, muscular chest...I hissed at my own thoughts, silently lecturing myself for openly drooling at the enemy.
“Curse Kyungsoo, we’ve got no hangover potion anymore” Chanyeol slammed the cupboard door close with a groan. I grinned as I looked up at him.
“Luckily for you, I have just what you are looking for” Chanyeol’s eyes landed on me as he stared down at me, eyebrows raised.
“And what is that?” He asked mildly interested and I smirked at him as I pushed him away harshly, making him groan as he stumbled backwards.
“My poison is actually a soup for hangovers so...sit down and wait patiently” I pointed the spoon at him as I went and took another cup and walked back to the cauldron. It was boiling, green bubbles raising to the surface, that means it’s all good to serve. Filling half of the cup, I walked to the table and placed the cup and spoon in front of Chanyeol while staring at him expectantly. He stared at the soup in disgust as it continued boiling, the green bubbles continuously raising to the surface.
“I was right, you are trying to poison us” He muttered as he carefully took a spoonful and stared at it.
“Well excuse me, but until you stare at it and contemplate whether it will kill you or not, I shall head to Kyungsoo’s room and feed him the soup” I said with a glare and walked past Chanyeol, ignoring his confused gaze as I knocked on the boy’s door. There was a quiet murmur and I walked inside, closing the door behind me.
“Morning!” I called loudly and cheerfully, watching as Kyungsoo squirmed and pulled the covers over his head. I chuckled and went to sit beside him on the bed.
“You know, as much as seeing you all squirming and whining amuses me, I decided to be nice and not poison you while I cooked this soup” I said quietly as if talking to a child and Kyungsoo peeked out from underneath his covers.
“What soup?” He asked quietly, voice barely audible.
“Seaweed soup, the best one from my Kingdom, an old lady taught me how to make it”
“It must be good then, old ladies always know what they are doing” Kyungsoo muttered as he carefully sat up and took the cup from my hands.
“You are underestimating me, comrade” I glared at him jokingly and a smile appeared on his lips as he smelled the soup. I watched as he started eating it carefully, slowly grinning and grinning wider.
“So it’s good then?” I asked with a grin and Kyungsoo nodded eagerly as I chuckled.
“Its effects come rather quickly so you shouldn’t worry about--” There was a big commotion outside the door as loud whining and footsteps combined together.
“You better go and feed them before they realize we have no more hangover potion and think it’s the end of the world” Kyungsoo said with a chuckle as he nodded towards the door.
I sighed as I glanced at the door, not wanting to leave Kyungsoo’s room, “Fine”
The second I was out in the hall it felt like I was in the market. The boy’s voices blended together, louder and messier than ever before. This was a disaster already. I stood in the doorway to the kitchen and clapped my hands loudly. Everyone in the room groaned loudly as Baekhyun glued his palms to his ears, Yixing following suit.
“If you’d just take a seat and calm down I could actually help you out!” I said loudly, making Jongin whine as he looked at me in pain. Chanyeol remained quiet as he looked at everyone and as he nodded everyone took their places at the table, except for Kyungsoo who was still in his room.
“Very well” I said with a pleased smile and walked to the cups and took eight of them to fill with the soup, I was hungry as well. Handing them the cups and spoons I took a seat opposite Chanyeol and quietly started eating, that is until someone made a gagging sound.
“What the hell is this?” Of course it was Baekhyun who was glaring at his green soup.
“Poison” I said casually and all boys stopped eating as their eyes fell on me. Jongdae spit back the content from inside his mouth into his cup. I remained nonchalant as I kept eating that is until Chanyeol started laughing loudly. My eyes widened and we all looked at him as if he was crazy.
“You good, Captain?” Junmyeon asked softly as he had already begun eating again, having seen that I was eating the same soup.
“You really don’t think she’d poison herself as well?” Chanyeol asked as he looked at the rest of the boys that weren’t eating anymore, “It’s good for your hangover, eat it”
And with that Chanyeol rose from the table as the boys started eating again, eyes finding mine when he was in the doorway. He nodded at me subtly and I looked back down to my soup as he walked away. I guess that was his way of saying ‘thank you’.
                                                      ~~~
     The days passed by quickly and I became more and more nervous as we were drawing closer and closer to the Vest Kingdom. Chanyeol still wasn’t saying if I would stay with them or if they would sell me away. I was really holding onto the hope that seeing as Kyungsoo, Sehun and Jongdae really liked me, Chanyeol would keep me around. But then...Baekhyun doesn’t like me and neither does Chanyeol and seeing as those two are rather close, I will most likely be sold off. Before that happens, however, I have formed a plan in my head. If I am to be sold, I shall act like a weeping princess and beg them to keep me, acting of course because I wouldn’t beg a pirate even if my life was at stake. So then we get to the market in the shore town of the Vest Kingdom and I kneel whoever is with my in the groins and run away, hiding. After they leave I travel to the Queen of the Kingdom and beg her to send me home, our Kingdom’s might not be on good terms, however my father once helped her and she needs to turn back the favour.
   I was busy cleaning the Captain’s cabin, which was fairly larger and fuller of objects than the others room. Of course Chanyeol would take the largest room, he was that selfish. I sighed as I dusted off another shelf of books until one book caught my eyes, ‘Curses and how to live with them’. What was a book like that doing here? The others were about traveling, the kingdoms and some myths and fairytales written by famous authors. My eyes narrowed as I took the book and walked back to the big oak desk, abandoning the rag on the chair, as my eyes fell on another book laying beside the outstretched map, ‘Witches, Curses, Countercurses’. What is all this curiosity about curses? Was Chanyeol planning on cursing someone? Perhaps me? Then suddenly Kyungsoo’s drunken words about a curse rang through my brain. Was it true then? Did he really say the truth? It seems like.
“What are you doing?” I slammed the black book against the desk in fright as Chanyeol’s deep voice boomed in the room.
“Cle-cleaning your room” I cursed myself for stammering, but Chanyeol’s gaze was murderous.
“Doesn’t look like it” He snapped as the door behind him slammed shut, making me jump again. Curse you, Y/N.
“Who allowed you inside?” He walked closer and I walked to the other side of the desk to make sure there was distance between us.
“I’m supposed to be cleaning every single room on this ship, remember?” I snapped as I sent a glare at Chanyeol, heart beating faster than before. I’m afraid, but I don’t know why. Being closed inside a room with Chanyeol alone makes my hair stand on edge and heart beat fast. Maybe because he’s the one that basically kidnapped me or maybe because he’s really handsome, however this is the first and last time you hear me saying that, or maybe because he looks like he could kill me with his eyes after he took a look at the book I took interest in.
“I didn’t give you permission, however, to clean this room” His dark eyes watched me intently as he walked closer.
“Yes, but you also didn’t state that I was not allowed inside, so how was I supposed to know?” I raised my eyebrows at him as we kept circling the desk, him trying to close in on me and me trying to put more and more distance between us.
“You were snooping around. I don’t tolerate thieves on my ship” My eyes widened at the accusation. Does that mean he’ll really sell me? I’m not even a thief!
“I’m not a thief!” I exclaimed angrily as I walked faster after Chanyeol tried lunging at me, “Stop running after me, I told you I won’t let you touch me!”
“As if someone will respect your wishes on this ship” Chanyeol sneered and I glared at him fiercely as I took the black book from the desk in my hands, his eyes fixating on it before his glare intensified.
“To keep you updated, Kyungsoo, Sehun, Junmyeon, Yixing, Minseok, Jongin all respect my wish so I don’t see your problem here, Chanyeol” I taunted him with a smirk and Chanyeol scoffed before his glare returned again.
“Put that book down” He demanded, making me look at the black book in my hands. He stopped in his tracks and so did I.
“No” I answered defiantly, glancing at the open window. Chanyeol seemed to pick up on my train of thoughts as his eyes darkened even more.
“Don’t even think about it” He warned, Adam apple bobbing up and down as he gulped. He almost looked...nervous.
“Why does this book matter so much to you?” I pressed on, knowing my luck was running thin.
“Put it down on the desk and I will let you go unharmed” Chanyeol’s voice sounded nice for the first time, but I didn’t like the threat.
I smirked as I took a small step towards the open window, the waves crashing loudly against the side of the ship, “What if I throw it out the window? The ocean will swallow your book and then--nothing will remain of it. Like you did with me. You took me away from everything I held dear and threatened to sell me off”
“I will take you back home, but put that book down, now” Chanyeol’s lips pulled into a tight smile and I chuckled as my eyes widened, amused that for once I had the upper hand while interacting with him.
“I don’t believe you” I said the words slowly, looking down at the book with a deep fake frown, “And I don’t like this book, we’d be only even if I made it disappear, don’t you think, Chanyeol?”
His eyes stayed fixed on my hand and I smirked as the silence dragged on, neither of us making a move. The desk was still between us. What’s my plan though? I throw the book out the window and run from his room? I can’t hide in my room, I’m on his ship for God’s sake. He’ll throw me off the ship in the best case, better to drown than get sold off to that Blackpink organization. I’d rather die than become a slave. But I want him to hurt like I do, knowing how far away I am from all of my loved ones. My eyes must have shown finality because Chanyeol’s eyes widened as he jumped towards me right as I raised my arm. I was going to throw the book out of the window, it almost left my hand, but I was roughly showed into the bookcase behind me, book flying out of my hands but sadly onto the wooden floor and not out the window. I hissed as the shelves dug into my back, Chanyeol’s big body pressed against me. I flailed my arms, pushing against his chest hard but Chanyeol growled and just held on tighter. I kicked his shin hard, realizing my hands were no use, and Chanyeol yelped loudly as he let go of me, I was finally able to push him away. I turned sharply and went to run for the door but before I could take even three steps hands around my waist whirled me around and I screamed as I was thrown against the desk. I yelped in pain as my hips crashed into the edge of the desk, probably bruising it as well, before I was turned around again, hand around my neck. I was bent backwards, feet barely on the floor and hands gripping the desk tightly as I fought against Chanyeol trying to push me down against the desk fully. Realizing I wasn’t about to give up the fight, he stopped pushing me but his hand remained around my neck, keeping a firm grip. He lay his other hand on the desk behind me, leaning so close our lips were almost touching.
“You are going to pay dearly for that” He spoke quietly, aware that due to our closeness I could hear him very well, but his voice was deadly.
I huffed, maintaining his eye contact even if I was close to shaking, “I didn’t even get to throw it out the window so why are you getting worked up, Chanyeol?”
“Stop saying my name like that” He snapped and I smirked as I raised my eyebrows.
“I don’t like being called princess and yet you still call me that…” I pretended to think for a moment, “What to do, what to do…”
“I know what I’m going to do with you” The dark smirk that stretched on his lips made me gulp, “And I have a feeling you won’t like it--”
“You and your crew are cursed” I blurted out in panic, not wanting to hear the rest of Chanyeol’s words. Chanyeol’s mouth remained opened as he looked at me mildly shocked, hand tightening around my neck.
“How do you know” He growled after collecting himself.
“Kyungsoo told me when you all got drunk” I whispered, my heart pumping fast due to the adrenaline.
“He can’t keep his mouth shut when drunk, the idiot” Chanyeol hissed as he looked past me.
“So it’s true then…” I trailed of gripping his wrist with one hand as his grip was becoming uncomfortable, but Chanyeol didn’t loosen it he just looked back at me with a fire burning in his eyes.
“I decided last night to sell you off tomorrow” Chanyeol’s words felt as if a weight was dropped onto me. My eyes widened and I gripped his wrist firmly now, feeling the panic rising in me again. But I thought he’d keep me after everything I did for him on this ship!
“But--but I did everything you asked and I--”
“You are too annoying and what you did everyone else on this ship can do, therefore you are to no use to us” Chanyeol’s voice held finality as he pulled me upright, back to my feet and let go of me.
“No, you don’t understand! I--I did everything you asked me why would you--the boys like me! I help Kyungsoo a lot and I--Sehun said how much he liked my company and that you feel better having me around! He told me that you enjoy my company, Chanyeol, why would you--”
“All that boy talks is nonsense” Chanyeol scoffed, averting his eyes from mine. I felt the tears in my eyes as I gripped his biceps trying to get him to look at me.
“Chanyeol, please--”
“Get out” His voice was quiet as he didn’t look at me.
I shook his arms as I stared up at him helplessly, “Please, Chanyeol, don’t do--”
“Get out” He repeated his words still refusing to look at me, still standing numb underneath my touch.
“Chanyeol, I--”
“Get out!” He suddenly shouted so loudly that a sob involuntarily escaped my lips. He stepped back and wrenched his arms out of my hold as he walked to his chair, leaving me trembling. I took off towards his door almost numbly as my lips trembled as tears rolled down my cheeks.
“You are the monster they speak about in the fairytales and myths” I muttered lowly before slamming his door shut and running down the corridor and towards my room.
I wanted to die.

Hiii. Congrats on having 500 followers. This is not really a request but I think it would be fun if I you can describe your MC and I can fanart them/him/her, base on what you wrote (or you can send a photo of your MC for more accurate fanart haha..). Anyway, just want to give you my support and thank you for all the writtings, lighten my mood everyday ~
Ahhhhhhh please don’t feel obligated to draw anything for me, if you want to by all means go ahead, I’m not going to stop you, but you don’t have to go out of your way or anything 🥺
Describing my Apprentice
But being that you asked....ahhhhshshwhah quite honestly at first I wasn’t really sure, when I first started playing the game it never really crossed my mind, I just used my name (and I still do) and as dorky as I think it is, the arcana really helped me get through some shit and it still does, but when I started getting traction on this blog, I knew one day some one was going to ask, so I started to pull things that I liked about my self, traits that I like or find cute about other people, and a very half assed and dramatic backstory, which I’m still working out, but if any one wants to hear what I got for it, ill most definitely explain. Also, I always kind of thought of little oc’s here and there that gave representation to certain communities, like the trans community, the black community, and apprentice with vitiligo (which is so pretty, btw, if you have vitiligo you are so. Beautiful. And I mean that I’m the nicest, non sexualized way possible,) and if people would like, when I get more free time I will most definitely give them some more thought, but back to ✨me✨ I can’t draw, like to save my life, and I, not the best at explaining things, so here are some pictures I made on picrew of what I imagine her looking like, and below them I’ll go into more detail
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
👏Dumb 👏 bitch 👏 blonde 👏 but plot twist, she’s actually really smart. She just makes a lot of stupid decisions, and has a lot of ✨mental illnesses ✨
First let’s start out with her blonde ass hair, which ties into the truamatic totally off canon backstory I’m giving her, (and honestly if you think hard about it, you could probably guess why she has blonde hair) growing up I always wanted my hair to be blonder, and super curly, so, she has very blond hair, which is right in between super curly and super wavy, as for the color, the second picture sums up the color pretty well.
She also has very blue ass eyes, like In the third picture, and some long ass eyelashes, which look like false ones.
She also has a gap inbtweem her two front teeth, nothing too big, not too small, just right. (But if were being honest it’s a little on the smaller side.
She is also 5’5 and is super skinny, my reasoning for this is that when asra brought her back, she was deathly skinny, and she never really gained back her weight, because of this she has a small chest, and ass, but has an hour glass figure, and dimples (Tw) she also has self harm marks on her thighs and wrist.
👏She 👏is 👏muriels 👏cottage 👏core 👏wife. 👏Except the thing is, she looks the part, she looks exactly how you would Imagine a cottage core wife to look like, except she is a feral dumbass, who acts the exact opposite way. Sure she’ll bake cookies from scratch. :) But can she use weed oil instead of butter-
I’ve mentioned before that opposites attract, but for that to work, you, and your partners moral code has to be the same, which is why she vibes so hard with Muriel, he grounds her, and she keeps him on his toes, but what’s super cute about their dynamic is that even though they may seem like polar opposites they both have a lot in common, like they both like nature, and flowers, and they’re both from the south-
Her faveroite color is pink, which works out great because it works so well with green, and she can always be seen with a headband in her face, or her hair pulled up on in braids, because it is thick and loooong, (like waist length)
She alsooooo loves dresses, that are like ankle length, or skirts that are ankle length, their comfy, cute, and if your In a rush, you don’t need to take it off to fuck, just hitch it up a little bit, it will be finneeeee
Also I haven’t decided her name yet, I feel weird giving her my real name, but at the same time she was based off of me, so it’s either Emma, or Elisabeth
I think that’s about all of her physical qualities, if any one is interested in learning more about her, or anything spefic about her, send in an ask, and I’ll gladly answer it any time! (Please don’t be shy, it makes me happy knowing that people are interested in this dumb bitch 🥺)

Novel Prep Game
Tagged by @thatfizzyyyy  thank you very much.
Rules: Answer the questions and then tag as many writers as there are questions answered (or as many as you can) to spread the positivity! Even if these questions are not explicitly brought up in the novel, they are still good to keep in mind when writing.
FIRST LOOK
1. Describe your novel in 1-2 sentences (elevator pitch)
This woman, Robyn Lancaster, has been sucked into a fantasy world, one where she is recognised as the leader of a rebellion known as Oliva Winter. While she does manage to plead for her trial to be delayed, someone is charged with looking after her until a later date, that person is Princess Anna Winter.
2. How long do you plan for your novel to be? (Is it a novella, single book, book series, etc.)
I plan for it to be a single book. However, that does not mean that I won’t be open to more books in this world in the future.
3. What is your novel’s aesthetic?
Noble Castles, shining steel, old books, dark rooms (I’m not good with aesthetic, please help)
4. What other stories inspire your novel?
There’s a lot of high fantasy, Princess falls in love with chosen one stories that inspire it. There’s also plenty of inspiration from Modern Girl in Thedas fanfics as well.
5. Share 3+ images that give a feel for your novel
I don’t really have many images, I have the one I prepped for my Quotev cover. (If anyone can find the original artist for me to credit, that would be wonderful)
Tumblr media
Btw: my Quotev and Wattpad username is TerribleArtist
MAIN CHARACTER
6. Who is your protagonist?
Robyn Lancaster (though I rarely write much stuff from her POV, so Anna Winter might be better)
7. Who is their closest ally?
Anna Winter (if Anna is the protag, then it is Robyn and Helias)
8. Who is their enemy?
Ser Alexander Bronzewing, largely because he believes that Robyn is evil.
9. What do they want more than anything?
At the start of the story is to simply go home, later, it is to be in a relationship with Anna Winter.
10. Why can’t they have it?
The first one is because Robyn has no magical potential, so she’d have a hard time casting the spell required to return home. While later it is because Robyn is a peasant (raised to being a handmaiden) and Anna is not only a Princess but the heir apparent to the throne.
11. What do they wrongly believe about themselves?
Robyn believes that she has a grating personality, that she is quite dumb and that her affections for Anna are one-sided.
12. Draw your protagonist! (Or share a description)
Seeing as how I can’t draw for shit, I’ll use descriptions.
She’s like 5”8, somewhat lithe build with a bit of healthy fat. Really pale skin. Evident of not going outside much. She has long, frazzly black hair, which is put into a long braided low ponytail, typically rested on one of her shoulders.
 PLOT POINTS 13. What is the internal conflict?
Let’s see… you from Anna’s POV (I rarely write from Robyn’s POV), you got her struggling to come to terms with her demisexuality, her still learning about what it would take to rule, and coming over her minor bit of mental trauma from the Witch Queen’s War (I need to write more for that)
14. What is the external conflict?
For Robyn and Anna to get together despite the pressures of the more traditional nobility (who are already ansty from Helias’ reforms)
That and Robyn and Alexander’s long term hate/hate relationship, as Alexander believes that Robyn is evil and must be purged, while Robyn believes that Alexander is an idiot who needs to get off her case.
15. What is the worst thing that could happen to your protagonist?
Death is one of them. Being used as a vessel for the resurrection of the Witch Queen is another.
16. What secret will be revealed that changes the course of the story?
The origins of the Magicless would be one (though it will be kept strictly under wraps). Another might be Anna’s demisexuality (for which she was heavily closeted)
17. Do you know how it ends?
An epilogue involving Anna’s coronation after her father abdicates the throne. Anna and Robyn already have a secret marriage together (because the clergy sees love as love)
 BITS AND BOBS
18. What is the theme?
Bold of you to assume that I’m smart enough to have a theme. I don’t actually know what the theme would be.
19. What is a recurring symbol?
Steel and books.
20. Where is the story set? (Share a description!)
In a fantasy world (that I don’t have a name for yet), specifically on the continent of Pacajteroj, and the Kingdom of Emain. Which is on the west coast of the continent, it is a trade orientated kingdom with a bloody past, has a good harvest and is generally considered to be the good guys on the continent. It has a warm Mediterranean climate, with draughts in the summer and mild winters.
The story is largely set in the Capital City of Emain, Serenity’s Grace (though it is largely called the Capitol, by most). Which is a multicultural city where trade flows like water, it’s a hive of noble and commoner activity (as well as some less than legal activity), it’s generally quite a good city, life is good, etc. (I subscribe to the “Fantasy worlds can actually be bright, rather than dark,” style)
21. Do you have any images or scenes in your mind already?
I have many scenes in mind already, I have the duel between Anna and Ser Darian (which I plan for Anna to lose) I’ve got Robyn getting flogged (I’m a bit of a sadomasochist) I’ve got Robyn and Anna confessing to each other (I have to rewrite that scene, because it was terribly written). I’ve got a lot of fun scenes in my mind. It’s just writing what comes in between.
22. What excited you about this story?
Initially, it was my method of entertaining myself while I was on holiday in the Netherlands and then I still had a few ideas. Then I got confirmation that this was going to be published and got a blank check in terms of time. So that was fun as all hell.
23. Tell us about your usual writing method!
Let’s see… since I don’t like cutting chapters short, I tend to write from multiple POVs every single chapter, using what I call the four important details method, basically whenever I do a timeskip, or change POV, I write these details, to inform the readers (and myself) whose POV we are seeing this from.
Date – Time – Location – Person
I tend to write in third person limited, mixing descriptions with actually telling the reader some things.
My writing style is horrible really.
I think I shall tag: @eternalwritingstudent @ratherinterestingmilkshake @juls-writes @esoteric-eclectic-eccentric @acebelle @eternalwritingstudent @lillayalightfoot

Chapter 4: Welcome to Team Free Will
“These are some good pancakes, cupcake.” Gabriel murmured dousing them with more maple syrup.
“Thanks, honey bun.” The angel’s head jerked up and stared at her. “What?” She blushed slightly. “You’ve been calling me all sorts of food related things, thought I’d return the favor.” She grinned.
“Okay then, gum drop. Game on.” He grinned back.
“I’m surprised you can taste the pancakes over all the syrup.”
He grinned back around a mouthful of food, “I like sweets.”
“Me too.” She smiled, shifting her hips to lean on the counter. “But apparently not as much as you.”
Over breakfast, Gabriel had started telling her about his story: his family, the apocalypse, how he’d met the Winchesters, about Jack, and what had happened to make Heaven loose so many angels. It was complicated, and there were a lot of holes, but he explained the Winchesters would be able to fill in most of missing pieces.
Riley was fascinated. Still a bit anxious and unsure, and she kept pinching herself to make sure she wasn’t sleeping. She wasn’t, sadly.
Gabriel was as helpful as he could be. He didn’t spare any details from his answers. He even offered to do the dishes while she packed. Apparently, this involved snapping his fingers, which made Riley frown, and wonder if she could do dishes that way too now…. There was going to be some great application to this angel mojo if it could be used to make her apartment clean. Sighing, Riley headed to her room and began pulling out clothes and items she need for a week, or two.
If it went longer…. Then she’d have to consider what to do long term. But that was a decision for future Riley.
Once packed, Riley made her way to the bathroom and grabbed a quick shower. She wasn’t quite sure what to do about her wings, because although they didn’t seem to get wet, she could feel them on her back and had a very strong urge to clean them. Especially since she could reach out and touch them, the feathers soft in her fingers. Her wing span was pretty large, though nothing compared to Gabriel’s. His wings were massive. Would his feather have the same feeling? Could wings be hurt?
She spent a longer time in the shower than she intended, musing on things as the water massaged her aching body.
-----------
For his part, Gabriel waited pretty patiently. He snapped the kitchen clean. Raided the candy bowl he found on the dining room table and settled in to watch some tv. He did send a quick mental note to Castiel that he might want to rendezvous with the Winchesters, as there was going to need to be a discussion asap on what happened next.
When Riley emerged from her bedroom, dressed in jean shorts, a bright yellow tank top and green flannel shirt, she found him sprawled across the couch, mouth around a lollipop, watching Dr. Sexy reruns. His eyes raked over her form as she approached, and he gave her bemused smile, “Flannel?”
Riley blinked at him, “It’s the weekend, I tend to dress down.” Her hand reached up a tugged the braid she’d wound her wet hair into. “Is it bad?”
He gave a bemused chuckle, “No. It’s just that you’ll fit right in with the Hardy twins.”
“Um….”
“Winchesters. They wear a lot of flannel.”
“I like flannel.” She sounded slightly offended. “What’s the issue with it?”
“Nothing. Nothing.” He soothed, “It’s cute on you.”
A blush tinged her cheeks as she turned back to kitchen. “I’ve got my stuff. I made arrangements for next week, work wise. So I’m ready whenever you are.”
“Righty-o.” Gabriel stood, tv blinking off behind him. He grabbed one of her bags and then took her hand with the other. “So, first time flyer – I’ll take us this time. Then we’ll need to work on you being able to do it yourself. But later.” He winked. “Ready, set, here we go!”
And like that, Riley’s apartment no longer held the two angels.
-------------
The hotel room Gabriel transported them to was cheap, and made Riley’s skin crawl ever so slightly. It wasn’t that she was judgey about the quality, more so the state of cleanliness. She hoped it wasn’t their final destination, but figured she’d roll with the punches at this point. The day could honestly not get much weirder.
Then she met Sam and Dean. The two men who inhabited the room were not what she’d expected. Gabriel, for all his humor and weirdness, was very well dressed and smooth talking. The Winchesters were….. not.
Rough around the edges would be a good way to describe them.
When they arrived, with the sound of wings no less, the boys had rolled off their respective beds and drawn weapons on them. Riley screamed.
Sam towered, literally towered over her and Gabriel. “Easy there Samsquatch, Deano.” Gabriel said. The boys slowly put their weapons down, though Dean did not put his completely away.
It had been an interesting meeting.
After they’d all calmed down and Riley was no longer hyperventilating, she got to actually meet the boys. Sam and Dean were nice, a bit freaked out, but still nice.
They had no idea what to make of her. Neither considered the possibility that she would have survived, or been turned into…. Whatever she was now. Angel? Half angel? Random thingy.
Sam was polite and Dean was gruff. He had a smolder to him that would have been charming if they’d been in a bar and not standing around a motel room. On first impression, Riley honestly liked Sam better, he made her feel more at ease….. and less like he’d shove a knife through her heart at any moment.
Neither tried to kill her though, which was a welcome thing. Instead they’d gone to a diner to grab some breakfast. Or for Gabriel and Riley, second breakfast.
Riley wasn’t particularly hungry, but she figured this wasn’t fully about food. They were in Massachusetts still, but pretty far outside Boston. Sam told her that Jody had called last night, and they’d driven up until Gabriel had told them to stay put. So they found themselves in a small town, waiting to hear.
Which was why the two men had stared in shock at Gabriel and Riley when they’d shown up at their hotel room, waking them up. Thus, Dean declared they needed food, and so to the diner they went.
There, as Dean stuffed his face with greasy food, and Riley sipped at a cup of tea, Sam started to tell their story. It was long, and complicated, and at points Riley really didn’t want to believe it. The life of the two men before her was terrible in its brutality and cruelty. They were brave, and crazy in the amount of fortitude they had. She didn’t believe she could have survived the things the universe, or apparently… Chuck….. had thrown at them. Not that they always survived. They just apparently came back to life.
Overall, it was also a condensed version, and Riley was worried what a full telling would reveal. The cliff notes were bad enough.
And then Sam started to talk about Jack, and Riley’s heart broke. How young. How alone. How unfair his life was. And Riley really wanted to find the poor kid and give him a hug. Even if he was the reason she was now having her eyes opened to the world of things that went bump in the night, she still felt a heart wrenching in sympathy for the kid. She was still a tad peeved at him, she had been happy in her life in Boston, but she still couldn’t help feel bad for the kid.
The other thing she knew, just knew, was that she did not want to be a hunter. The lore was interesting, all those supernatural creatures. But damn if she was going to go out hunting them. Especially since it seemed to spawn only heartache, misery, and death. Who knew that death could die, btw, that was just some messed up shit. And it sounded awfully lonely.
Which was probably why all three of the men at the table with her had haunted looks in their eyes.
Even if not a hunter, Riley was sort of stuck. It wasn’t like she could just walk away at this point. This was apparent by the ever-present translucent wings now on her back. She still had mixed feelings about those.
Also, Riley found herself drawn the brothers. Not romantically, definitely not sexually (though neither was hard on the eyes). She just, wanted to hug them.
As for Gabriel…. Riley wasn’t sure exactly where her feelings lied. He had staid with her through the night, joked with her in the morning, and brought her to the boys. Everything he’d done had been to help her. Plus he made her heart flutter, just a tad. A crush maybe? Riley shrugged it off. No time to deal with it now. So many other things to deal with.
Breakfast was a slow affair, and Gabriel sat there drinking his sugar with coffee in it and Riley sipping her third cup of tea. Dean ate a lot. Sam ate some. And by the time they were all done, and the most of breakfast crowd had filtered out, that was about the time that Castiel walked in.
Meeting Castiel was……… weird. He was not what she expected. So serious. The straight man to Gabriel’s trickster. Which was surprising because she’d imaged the other angels would be like Gabriel. But Castiel was the anthesis was the sugar loving archangel.
Plus he’d stared at her in such an unnerving way that Riley had excused herself to make a phone call.
While the four boys talked, Riley escaped outside to call Jody. Jody was shocked and happy. She didn’t expect that win, and it was a win. She said they were going to drink the moment Riley felt good enough to get out of the bunker. Riley really wanted to ask what the bunker was, but figured she’d find out soon enough.
They chatted for a while, catching up. Jody gave her more pieces of the puzzle, explaining how she’d met the boys and how she’d actually found herself with her charges.
As they were signing off, the boys exited the diner. Castiel disappeared quickly.
“You can hitch a ride with me.” Gabriel offered, “I’ll drop your bags and you off at the bunker?”
“Um…”
Dean scoffed, “And leave the girl alone in a strange bunker. We’ll take her.”
Gabriel shrugged, and grabbing her bags, disappeared too.
Riley found herself following the Winchesters to a black impala. Riley stopped and stared at the car for a few minutes. She loved it. It was so classic and beautiful, and told Dean so. Which is how she found herself riding shotgun and Dean now grinning at her. “Music?”
“Obviously.” She responded. Dean hit the dial and AC/DC filled the car. Sam sighed, cramped in the backseat. “I could have gone with Gabriel.” She offered, still could.
“Nope, gotta get the full experience.” Dean said. “Plus you can tell us about yourself now.”
“Ah. Sure.” Riley sent Sam a sympathetic look as he shifted again, stuck in the back. “I’m from Massachusetts, but the rural area originally. I went to undergrad and studied pre-law. Went to law school in the city. Took the bar. Got a job. And here I am.”
Dean chuckled, “That can’t be all.”
“Honestly, I’m kind of boring compared to you guys.”
“How’d you meet Jody?” Sam asked.
“I attended a seminar on small town law and its conjunction with law enforcement. I met Jody there. She was giving a talk sheriff life. We staid in touch. I helped her with a custody thing.” She shrugged, “We have girls days when ever we’re in the same part of the country.”
“Boyfriend?” Dean asked. Sam snorted in response.
“Nope. Too busy with school.” She smiled, “And you?”
Sam burst out laughing, “No serious relationships. Dean likes the ladies though.”
“The ladies like me.” Dean grinned.
Riley was nothing like them she realized. Other than music apparently, she had had little to offer the Winchesters. This was going to be an interesting experience. Heck, if it ever stopped. Riley glanced out the window, ‘for all I know, this is my life now. Or whatever comes next.’
“Do you like pie? Or beer?” Dean asked.
Riley’s eyes slid back to him, “Both. I make a good apple pie.”
“Make?” Sam asked.
“Yeah, I like to bake.”
“I think I’m in love.” Dean flashed her joking smile. “You’ll fit right in.”
Riley laughed, wondering how they could think that. She relaxed though and allowed herself to be drawn into some inane conversation about the best pies Dean had ever had on their hunting trips.

Then Again, P2 Peter Parker x Reader
Author’s Note: Thank you so much to my new followers and to everyone who liked Part 1! As I mentioned before, this is the first piece of writing I’ve ever posted online, so each response means the world to me. Thank you guys so much! In particular, a huge thanks to fanboyswhereare-you, my wonderful beta.
Again, if you have any comments, questions, or anything at all that you want to tell me, send me a message. Reviews are welcome! (Please review, as a writer, I really really really value peer responses and vague validation.)
Part 1, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, Part 7, Part 8, Part 9, Part 10, Part 11
Without further ado,
Then Again, Part 2:
(Word count: 2,022)
I hate the waiting game.
It is by far my least favorite game to play with Peter. QuizUp, Kahoots, Monopoly, How-Many-Arguments-Can-We-Start-Between-Ned-and-MJ-In-A-Day, Charades, and Scrabble are all entertaining games to play with him. The waiting game, however, is grey and bland. Moreover, it makes me feel paranoid and clingy. Both paranoid and clingy, yet simultaneously doubtful of how valid those two emotions can be, given the circumstances. It’s a draining game of mental tennis. On one side of the court: I’m being - and coming across as - so clingy. On the other: My emotions are justified reactions that anyone would have in this situation, not knowing if their friend is okay. Peter probably knows that too. Trying to decipher which is true and which is false only leads me to bounce back and forth between those two sides for hours. Until Peter responds. Then it all goes away.
The stress of the waiting game always manifests as an itch on my right index finger.
Most days that itch only somewhat bothers me - but today, of course, isn’t most days. It’s been a wonderful, sunny day that everyone (but Flash) has been planning for over a month. Like the city, it might not be glamorous, but it’s ours and it’s meant to be special.
I mean, even Peter has been excited about this from the start, all the way up to today. Despite being somewhat of a recluse this week.
At this point, my finger is red and burning. Peter hasn’t answered my texts, Michelle’s ironically professional emails, or Ned’s dozen calls. It’s 7:15 p.m.
Michelle thought it best to arrive early, so the three - rather than four - of us await the rest of the team at a large table in a decently busy restaurant.
I open my messages. Nothing.
“We’re already here, btw.”
Whoosh. I close them. Ned glances at my phone.
“Tell him if he’s later than 8, I’ll rat him out to Aunt May. She told him this morning that he should skip his ‘Starky stuff’ and just hang out with everybody today. I don’t think she was too happy when she got home and saw he wasn’t there.”
I hadn’t heard May say anything to Peter this morning. Then again, I had fallen asleep at the table. (Michelle kept kneeing me on the couch all night - the reason I barely slept.) And when Peter woke me up because the cereal bowl I was cradling threatened to fall, May didn’t even make a joke about it. Did they have an argument?
“Earth to Y/N?” Ned waved his hand in front of my face. “Daydreaming about Spider-Man again?”
On the bright side, Peter isn’t here to hear that. Ned’s been making a lot of weird comments like that today. It’s not helping the fact I feel so paranoid. How would Ned know? And why so suddenly?
“Very funny. I’ll text him.”
I open my messages again.
“You and May okay? Ned says he’ll tell her you bailed if you don’t get here by 8. Don’t shoot the messenger.”
A few minutes later, the waiter brings a tray of waters. Two minutes more and he leads Abe, Cindy, Sally, and unexpectedly, Betty, the blonde newsgirl, non-decathlon member, to the table.
A round of “Hello!”’s are exchanged.
“It’s cool if Betty joins us, right?” Sally asks. “We all kind of met up on our way here and she was about to pass by, so we thought it’d be alright?”
“Of course,” Michelle says. Her nails drum the table. Our little code.
“Absolutely,” I add. “Ned was just saying we should have invited you, Betty!”
Ned thinks he can keep a secret. But he can’t. I’ve noticed him staring at her in seventh hour and Michelle is far too perceptive to miss it. With me, Michelle, Peter, and Flash all being in that class, you’d think he might make an effort to be less obvious.
Have I been obvious? Is that why Ned’s been making those jokes today? But why today? I barely even saw Peter today, let alone while Ned was there.
“Really? Thank you! I didn’t want to intrude on the team before you guys left or anything.”
Her smile is genuine. I suppress a laugh as Ned’s ears twinge red and he struggles for a cool way to play along.
“Yeah, totally. I mean, you should go with us to D.C. It’d be totally cool.”
“And totally against the rules,” Cindy points out, frowning. “Don’t get me wrong, it would be cool, but Mr. Harrington doesn’t let anyone outside of the team come. Trust me, I-”
BEEEEEEP! A horn blares outside. Once. Twice. Thrice. The third blast holds for ten seconds, minimum.
A waitress, her arms full of hot plates, glares out the window she’s now blocking. I have a guess as to which car in all of New York it is, though. Nevertheless, the scent of freshly baked salmon, wild rice, chocolate, and something lemony from the plates is making my mouth water. Hurry up, Parker. Even Flash is on time.
“I predict,” Abe says, “Flash will walk through those doors in approximately sixty seconds.”
Everyone watches the clock, all knowing it’s undoubtably him.
Sixty seconds later, Flash strides in.
“You know,” he announces, pulling off his the price of this could buy Ned a new gaming console jacket, “in this world, there are the Have’s and the Have-Not’s. And the Have-Not’s are real dicks to any Have’s with a worthwhile car.”
Michelle immediately starts to speak.
“No need to go off on a spiel, O Captain, Our Captain,” he mocks. “I know, I know. Rich people, poor people, power structures, etcetera etcetera. Don’t get your braids in a knot.”
“Are-”
“Oh my god! It’s not a race thing! Chill out. It’s literally because you’re wearing braids today. Not everything means something, you know!”
He’s barely sat down and he’s already trying his best to pick a fight. The consistency of it borders on comforting. In a strange, stupid way, Flash is dependable.
“Freud would beg to differ,” says a voice to my left.
I’m surprised for the second time in the last ten minutes. Peter didn’t bail.
I feel my pulse jump as he runs a hand through his hair and shrugs. I hate myself for it. He slides into the booth to take the table’s last seat beside me. Oddly, he doesn’t say hello or acknowledge me at all. Then again, he’s been odd all week.
Does Ned know something? Did he tell Peter? Does Peter feel awkward about me now?
I try to shake myself of these thoughts. Ned can’t know anything. I haven’t said a thing to anyone. It has to be something else. It has to be.
“Yeah, well,” Flash says, affronted. “Freud wasn’t a real psychologist anyway. What’s his work got to offer? It’s not even valid.”
Everyone races into the topic at once, drowning out the restaurant’s gentle music.
Moments like this make me fall in love with friends all over again. My best friends are talking passionately with their hands, their individual mannerisms and voices blending together like warm colors and soft city sounds. My other friends (or teammates, however you would label it) are bouncing points and ideas from each person to the next like an inflatable beach ball, never stumbling over one another.
For once, I sit back and soak up the moment. Admittedly, Freud is a subject I would rarely pass up, but I’m too relieved at the turn-out to think. Everyone showed up. Everyone is getting along. (As much as ever.) Rather than participate in the aggressive bonding of our group, I smile, listen, and laugh, trying to convince myself things with Peter are fine. This is the perfect night for an almost perfect day, don’t overthink it.
I take a moment to admire the restaurant. It’s one Abe suggested. The room is deep red, the hanging lights emit a delicate glow, and for the sake of minimalistic elegance, gold flecks are painted to sprinkle down the walls from the ceiling. It’s such a small detail I almost miss it. Other tables are talking and joking, silverware clanging and plates steaming. It smells like a fresh bakery impregnated with a vegetable garden and a smokehouse.
Mouth watering again, I notice Flash is the only one looking at a menu. He’s gotten to the “I don’t care about this topic anymore” stage of his argument. I don’t want to interrupt anyone, so I pick up my menu as well. Maybe someone else will catch on and one by one we’ll come back down to Earth.
“Yes it does!” Peter shouts beside me.
Maybe not.
“You can’t bring that up without discussing the one thing that clearly directly correlates his childhood to that thesis!” Peter says. I suddenly realize he’s seriously into this argument. The point he’s making is one of my own though, so it gives me a short flutter of pride. I know he listens to me and to everyone else, but it’s satisfying to have it confirmed, to know, with evidence, that we learn from each other. “Right, Ned?”
Peter turns from Flash to me to Ned. In the half-second they’re directed at me, his eyes shine with anger. My gut drops. Peter never gets angry, not like this, not at me.
“Yeah,” Ned says slowly, “but Y/N gets this better than I do. Didn’t you say-?”
Peter whips back to Flash.
“My point is-”
Ned gives me a questioning look, head tilted.
Peter is less than a foot to my left, but I take out my phone anyway. He’s too deep into the argument to notice and I can’t ignore whatever is going on anymore. I message Ned and Michelle.
“Peter mad at me for something?”
Whoosh.
The waiter returns to the table.
“Anyone ready to order?” he says, pen and paper pad in hand.
“I am,” Flash affirms immediately. “I’ll have the-”
“We’ll need a few minutes,” I say. Nobody picked up the menu hint.
The waiter nods and leaves with a smile.
“Okay, children,” Michelle says. “Let’s be quiet for a couple minutes and focus at the task at hand. Everyone have their menus? Excellent. I’m so proud. Ready. Set. Go!”
The table as a whole seems fine. Everyone here takes debating as entertainment and few topics result in any real disagreements. (Well, we get over them quickly, at least.)
Across the table, Abe points at his favorite dish as a suggestion for Cindy. Everyone else is calmly reading the first page.
Except Peter. Peter’s mouth is screwed up in mute irritation. In truth, it’s hard to take him seriously with that expression. It looks like he’s trying to hide something in there. Just a couple secrets, no big deal. I consider whispering a joke to him about it to lighten the mood. I deflect the thought immediately; I doubt it would work right now.
Ding! Ding!
My phone. Peter huffs. I switch it to silent.
MJ: “He’s acting weird. Maybe it’s about May? They got into an argument in her room while you were cuddling your Fruity Pebbles.”
“About what?”
Whoosh.
Bzz.
MJ: “I couldn’t hear. Kind of pissed me off. I have no idea. Ned?”
I glance up. Michelle has built a house out of her and Abe’s menu since he’s looking at Cindy’s. Her phone must be hidden inside like an Easter egg.
Ned, like me, hasn’t put that kind of effort into covering up our gossiping. He’s scanning the menu, but texting under the table.
Bzz.
Ned: “I heard 1: time management 2: friendly-at-home-occasionally Peter Parker 3. Y/N might”
Me?
“I might what???”
Whoosh.
Ned: “I cnat believe i typed that without any mistakes not looking. and idk. those were just the words i cauhgt.”
MJ: “Ironic, Ned.”
I sneak a peek at Peter. He lifts an eyebrow. I’m not sure if it’s a reaction to something on the menu or if he knows I’m trying to analyze him through my peripheral vision. Either way, I give up on both the analysis and the texts.

*runs in quickly* *throws $5 and a coupon for cat food* Headwear. Male and female! Please and thank you! *runs away*
Also, sorry for asking about things a third day in a row! It will all make sense eventually! Or not! I don't really know at this point in time yet. But it probably will!
lol that’s the writer’s curse, isn’t it? sorry this took while btw, i had/have some real world obligations so i just left the blog alone to run on the queue for a while.
so headwear! i’m assuming 1830s again here, let me know if i’m wrong. headwear for both men and women in this era were designed specifically to accommodate the ever more complicated hairstyles -- for men, most often curled deep side parts, though hair curled straight up was also an option. for ladies, it was incredibly complex things with big ol curls on either side of the face and massive apollo loops, topknots, and braided bun-like things. headwear thus had to have ample room for all this nonsense.
for men, the hat of choice was generally the top hat. in this era the brims were a bit curved, and the crowns just slightly. they were black, with thin black ribbons on which a bow was optional. most often they were silk, but a few fur ones can also be found. rarely, you might also find some straw ones for summer, but i can’t find any nice 1830s non-american examples rn
pic dump:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
first from 1830, next two from unspecified 1830s, final two from 1834. there are a few more pics of top hats in the answer about men’s mourning clothes.
caps were also a thing, generally reserved for young boys, riding outfits, and the working class. it’s very, very difficult to find extant working class garments, since they’re not something anyone would generally want to preserve that badly.
riding cap:
Tumblr media
for working class & boys’ caps, you can pick out a good number in liberty leading the people, since that was painted in 1830:
Tumblr media
women’s headwear was more diverse. get a load of the range here:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
^ all french from 1830
bonnets were typical streetwear. they were massive fantastic monstrosities with very wide brims and many many adorments of ribbon, lace, frills, and flowers. they were generally silk or straw. pics:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
first and second images french, the others unspecified european. first from 1830-1835, next two 1830, final from some unspecified time in the 1830s.
calèches were another very interesthing thing! not nearly as ubiquitous as bonnets, but fascinating and worth mentioning nonetheless. they had a more spherical shape than bonnets, giving more room for the hair. they were collapsible, too! basically, they’d guard the hairstyle from wind or rain if the weather turned sour, and could be collapsed once you wanted to show off your hair again. here’s one from 1830:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
they’re silly looking, but fun!
for daywear inside the house, or underneath the bonnet, a woman might wear a cap. these were often associated more with older women than anyone else, though. they were either linen or cotton, and could be decorated with frills, ribbons, lace, etc. pics:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
first i don’t have the time to track down the country of origin, but the next two are french. they’re from 1830, sometime in the 1830s, and sometime in the mid-19th century, respectively.
less commonly, there were things like berets and turbans for eveningwear (neither of these looking much like what we picture in our heads when we hear those words). one example of a turban is up in the first ladies’ fashion plate i posted -- that massive pink feathered thing on the right. by a fun coincidence, we’ve also got a massive pink feathered beret! check the top of the third fashion plate. a few other examples:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
french turbans from sometime in the ‘30s, and 1837 specifically (sorry it’s some years past what we want)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
some berets from 1830, 1834, and sometime in the ‘30s. second and third are french.
so unless you want me to get into the specifics of riding headwear too, which i’m sorry to say i don’t have much time for right now (and i believe you’ve waited long enough for this answer lol), that’s what i’ve got. you can check my headwear tag for more things if you’d like

God & His Priests & His Kings: Chapter 1 - A FFXV OC Fanfic
Hey y'all, the sequal is finally here! So it's gonna be awhile before much happens, this chapter is character/world building for the most part cuz we do have a big timeskip between HR&B and this story. Now, fair warning: it's gonna be a LONG time before Soo gets together with a chocobro and this fic does start off with her being in a relationship with a male OC. That being said, this fic will contain underage sex/sex between two minors and eventually between adults.  There is also a 7 year time skip between the end of HR&B and the beginning of this story, btw. There is vague nsfw content towards the end of this chapter btw and does not differ from the chapters posted on ao3 or FF.Net. Words: 2,350 Uploaded: 08/05/17 Master List
Vale of Eternal Blossoms - Neal Acree
I knelt quietly in the palace gardens, praying to any gods who would listen. I was sending off my daily pleads to the astrals and anyone else listening; I prayed for the health of the three princess elects, and their consorts and children. I prayed for the health of my mother, and for the health of the royal families of Lucis and Tenebrae.
Littered around me were piles of flowers and herbs that I had begun bundling either to be put on display throughout the various rooms in the palace or to be dried in the apothecary. The afternoon sun kissed my pale skin, offering some colour to my cheeks. I twirled a blue flower between my fingers, thinking of the little boy I had left behind in Lucis seven years ago, with those big sapphire blue eyes and messy black hair.
Seeing the prince grow through the dreamscape was hard; as Noctis grew older, he began to seek me out less, making our visits few and far between. I hadn't seen him since he started high school this year, his hair trimmed to a short length to adhere to school rules. He had slowly begun to shoot up in height, easily passing my five foot two and continuing to grow.
Communicating in the waking world wasn't any better though. Letters between Goryeo and Insomnia took weeks to get from the sender to the destination, nevermind how difficult it was to find the time to sit down and write a letter. I had sent a response off to Noctis a month ago, but with the exam season just around the corner, it was hard to say when I'd get a reply.
I sighed heavily, turning back to the flowers and herbs I had yet to sort through. Blades of cut grass clung to the dark green fabric of my skirt as I picked through the stocks and bound them together with twine.
I had become so immersed in my task that I let out a small scream when a pair of hands wrapped around my waist, pulling me back against a firm chest.
"You need to be more alert when you're alone, jagiya." a husky voice whispered into my ear, making me fight to turn around and hit my assailant on the arm.
Orion gave me a toothy grin, chuckling as I huffed at him before replying.
"And you shouldn't go around scaring court ladies when they're working. You're lucky I didn't have a knife," I said, poking his chest as I glared at his tanned face.
"You wouldn't stab me, you value my company too much." he stated cockily, pushing a strand of hair away from my face.
"I may value your company and friendship, however I do not appreciate when you disrupt my work." I said as I turned away to continue bundling up the herbs.
I had met Orion when I was thirteen, and he was fifteen; I had been in the market that day running errands for my mother and he had been working at a fish stall that my family frequently purchased from. The older boy had talked my ear off the entire time I was at the stall, and asked after me in the following weeks.
Myung-Hee got it into her head about making a match between me and the half-galahdian boy, sending me down to the market for errands more often, usually to his father's fish stall for random things. Orion and I eventually became friends, spending the afternoons on the coast when we could both get away from our respective jobs.
In the three years that I had known him, Orion had swiftly changed from a boy into a man. As he inched closed to adulthood, his features began to appear sharper as baby fat melted away, and stubble covered his strong jaw. His long dark hair was adorned with braids and some strands bound together with leather strips, pulled back from his tanned face with the sides shaven. It was an attractive look for him, a beautiful blend of his mixed heritage involving both Galahdian and Goryean undertones.
And of course Orion wasn't the only one blooming into adulthood. I was experiencing puberty all over again, dealing with the rushes of forgotten hormones and rapid body changes. My body in this world wasn't too different from that of the one I had on Earth, save for minor differences in the finer details.
My skin was more golden despite how little time I spent in the sun, with my long dark hair falling to my lower back in a sea of black. My eyes were more upturned at the outer corners, my face fuller. My petite frame carried little to no curves, my breasts smaller than before, but I remained at my old height of five foot two.
In comparison, Orion towered over me even when sitting, his palm against the grass as he leaned towards me.
"When is the third princess planning on relieving you of your duties, court lady Han-Farron?" the man asked, smiling roguishly as he came closer.
My brown gaze flicked up to meet his own, taking in the mischievous glimmer that lurked within them, sending my chest aflutter.
"Princess Eun-Byeol usually dismisses me shortly after nightfall, unless she requires me further." I replied, tucking herbs and flowers into a basket for travel from the gardens to the palace.
"I'll wait for you then…" Orion whispered, leaning in even closer as he tucked a blossom behind my ear before swiftly departing.
A small smile graced my lips as I watched him go, my fingers delicately touching the blossom. I gathered up what remained of the flowers before lifting the basket as I rose and hurried off in the opposite direction, my dark green skirt fluttering in the wind.
The stone pathway wound through the massive garden, intersecting with other paths and branching off at various points as it led up towards the palace. The green of the garden soon gave way to the red pillars of the palace, the high walls and soldiers separating the garden from the courtyard beyond.
As soon as I entered, I was surrounded by the people of the palace. Court ladies and servants milled about, no part of the palace was silent as they carried out their duties. I walked among them, heading for the kitchen to drop off the various herbs and flowers so the could be delivered to the appropriate heads of staff.
Upon entering the kitchen, I was directed by court lady Oh to place the basket on the long wooden table that stretched across the kitchen. After words, I approached the older woman, head bowed respectfully as she handed me a tray of tea and rice cakes.
"Deliver this to third princess Eun-Byeol's chambers, she is taking her evening tea with the first princess Gyeong-Hui. Do not return until you are dismissed." court lady Oh ordered in a stern tone, no different from usual.
I accepted the tray with a small nod and a quiet, "Yes, lady Oh," before departing from the kitchens and making my way across the palace. The chambers of my lady, third princess Eun-Byeol, was farthest from the kitchens, prompting me to stride quickly as the air chilled with the slow onset of evening.
The guards posted outside my lady's chambers opened the doors at my approach, allowing me entry to the receiving room where the two princesses sat talking.
"Ah, lady Han-Farron. You've returned from the gardens I see, and with tea and cakes." came princess Eun-Byeol's bell-like voice as I placed the tray on the table, setting the tea pot and rice cakes between the royals.
"Yes, your highness. Court lady Oh believed that rice cakes would be suitable for the first and third princesses." I answered respectfully, my eyes directed towards the floor as my hands pressed against my abdomen as I withdrew from the table.
"A good decision on her part." Princess Gyeong-Hui confirmed as she selected a cake from the plate, "Now, my dear, how are you adjusting to being a personal court lady to princess Eun-Byeol? I know this must be rather different for you." the elder princess inquired, her voice weathered by age.
"The third princess has been nothing but kind to me, your highness. She doesn't ask too much of me and is fair in her orders." came my response as the two princesses continued with their evening tea.
"Good. You may be a lower station than her, but you are still a member of the Han clan and my grand-daughter. It's is an honour for princess Eun-Byeol to have a personal court lady of your standing." the first princess continued, taking a sip of her tea as she spoke.
"Of course, your highness." I answered simply, standing still against the wall behind the older woman.
The two princesses continued to speak with each other, allowing me time to let my mind wander. I thought back on when I became Eun-Byeol's personal lady, when I had just turned sixteen in this new life.
I had been a regular court lady before then, starting when I turned thirteen, learning etiquette and the skills that were necessary to serve and provide for a family. But as my features became more mature and my figure went from girl to woman, I gained the attention of the other two princesses and their court ladies.
I was approached by my grandmother and her court lady following my sixteenth birthday, the pair explaining the role of personal court ladies to me in great detail. We were to be the unseen double of our princess, so that if our charge was in danger or needed to wander anonymously, the court lady would stand in her place with nobody suspecting a thing. The makeup the princesses wore to disguise certain parts of their features made it much easier to pull off the switching of identities; the flowing silks of the ruqun hiding the differences in body shape, and education on politics and mannerisms assisting in the deception. I had only stood in as Eun-Byeol's double a few times, but it was amazing how much we did look like each other when I was dressed as her.
I was brought out of my thoughts at the sound of Gyeong-Hui's chair scraping against the wood floor as she stood to take her leave.
"It was a pleasure to speak with you, princess Eun-Byeol. We don't often converse outside of court," she said, giving a slight nod of her head.
The younger girl rose as well, bowing her head in respect as she replied, "It was an honour to host you. I hope we can enjoy each others company more often."
Gyeong-Hui nodded once more before turning and sweeping out the door with a guard and handmaiden behind her. Eun-Byeol headed towards her bronze mirror that rested on her dressing table, as I quickly placed the empty plate, teapot and cups on my tray before following her further into her living space.
I began to assist her in removing various hair pins and ornaments, watching as sections of her hair began to fall from her formal updo. Once all her hair was released from the various pins and twists, I gently began combing the tangled strands, working through the knotted sections with care. It was a long process due to the length of the princess' hair, but thankfully the knots were easily untangled, and I began to help Eun-Byeol remove her ruqun and redress in her night clothes. The white silk nightdress was simpler for the princess to handle on her own, so I began disposing of the dirty ruqun so that it could be washed.
"Is there anything else you need, your highness?" I asked politely as the older woman stood across the room.
"No, that'll be all for the evening, thank you." Eun-Byeol replied, her cool gaze landing on me briefly before turning towards her bed. I bowed respectfully despite her back being turned to me, and I departed from her living space.
The evening guard had begun their watch as I closed the door behind me, the night's chill touching my cheeks. I sighed and quickly made my way to the small room located not too far from the princess' chambers that had been appointed to me. They were located in a secluded courtyard that was near the walls separating the palace from the gardens, the area free of trees and washed in moonlight.
I slipped into my room, quietly closing the door behind me. The rice paper door that led to the courtyard was open, letting the moonlight into the small room and illuminating Orion's large figure as he laid on the bedding. I smiled silently before unpinning my hair for the night, listening to the shuffling of fabric as the older man shucked his tunic across the room before padding over to where I kneeled in front of my small dressing table.
Kneeling behind me, Orion brushed my hair away from the side of my neck before slowly brushing his lips over sensitive skin. I shivered lightly, allowing him to have his fun as I slowly wiggled out of my outer clothes, letting the silk of my hanbok drop to the floor.
I giggled when his lips brushed over a particularly ticklish spot on my neck, slipping out of his arms and walking over to the bedding, smiling as dark, hungry eyes followed me. Orion slowly followed, the beads in his hair clacking as his lips sought out mine once he stood in front of me.
His kiss was hungry and lustful, large hands roaming my torso as he attempted to remove my under clothes and cotton underskirt. The skin-to-skin contact was heavenly after spending a few nights without him, warmth radiating from his body as we both lost what remained of our clothing. I wrapped my arms around his neck as we lay entwined on the bedding, his lips mouthing a path of fire down my neck and chest, drawing small gasps from me as we slowly succumbed to our lust and passion.
Next Chapter
Fun fact: Orion resembles Qi Hang's character, Ze Yin, from the Chinese drama, General & I, while Soo-Min looks like the model Jang Yoon-Ju.

Thoughts on basically all the STEVENBOMB6. Part 1.
IIIIIIIT WAS SO LONG and yet... surprisingly early for the bomb, it was premature, like baby Jesus.
First episode “Steven’s Dream”
Again Steven has weird dream powers and Greg has a very luxurious new watch.
Also we learn that Steven’s curiousity about his mom’s past is increasing to a dangerous point. And now we know that the weird Diamond transportation thingy that we saw in “The Answer” is called a Palaquin.
So, Garnet warns him not to go (BECAUSE SHE IS AFRAID OF HER. HER. HEEEEEEEEEEER) to Korea (were many shows are animated including this one) but, for the first time in a long time, he disobeys Garnet and goes anyway with his father (but Greg was so dumb because if the gems don’t let him why should him? Maybe because it was dangerous?! Maybe.).
AND THEN WE SEE BLUE DIAMOND. OMG. OMG. OMG.
S h e   i s   s o   b e a u t i f u l.
And merciful.
Well, she fucking takes Greg away. Forever. Bye.
Second episode: “Adventures in light Distortion”
I kind of feel like this episode wasn’t that important but it reminded has that gem  bodies are just a reflection of light (don’t quote me on that). That means, unless they are shattered, they cannot die.And unless they give us more information on gem’s death causes.
And, Steven can go fast. Like, he can survive speed of light. Maybe it will be important in the future.  Also, they will have to do something about the Rubies.
Third episode: “Gem Heist”
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW
They made it in. Esteban and the gems get out of the ship with their assigned roles (btw I love how Sapphire says “Play it straight”) and they are greeted by some joking Amethysts but the star of the episode is Holly Blue Agate (a name that i really like. It sounds neat.) and it seems that they have forgotten about the rebel gems of Earth because she didn’t even thought about them.
Pearls are treated like shit, and humans are so simple to them like they treat them like insects.
Also, Blue Diamond went to Earth took Greg, left thim in the zoo, left, and then came  back? Where the fuck did she left? Why coming back so soon? That I think we will never know.
Then they some Amethyst take Esteban into the zoo. AAAAAND DAMN THAT HUMAN OUTFIT. I WANT ONE IN EVERY COLOUR. Esteban finally sees his dad, getting his hair braided.
